Ken Andrews is my 3rd favorite musician of all time behind Chris Cornell and Eddie Van Halen. What an amazing song writer.

Thank you. I used a Dr. Z Maz Jr. with a Revv G 3 for dirt. Had a delay and reverb in the loop.

There's 6 guitars in this recording. One is an acoustic guitar through a jc 120. The other 5 are various distorted tones all based around the jmp preamp. There's a plexi, some jt45, some jcm, and the Marshall dsl. The various tones have different signal chains containing various effects like flanger, phaser, chorus, delay, and reverb. To play this live, ken andrews has always had to assimilate this sound by using the Marshall plexi tone on the jmp with a wet dry setup and all modulation pedals to one side..until 2014, when he began using the are fx. He is now able to completely model this tone using his aluminum piezo equipped signature guitar..live he uses 3 different guitar sounds at once. One is the Friedman brown eye model, the other a Bogner fish strato model. In the verses he applies the piezo to the sound using a 3rd signal chain.blended in to capture the bell like sound of the acoustic. It sou ds almost identical to the album.

I have a patch on my pedal that sounds very close. I use a plexi with some light chorus flamger and phase, and a jc 120 with huge chorus and delay sounds. When rhythm guitar is playing a higher gain sound behind my lead tone, it sounds very close.

Hey there. I was using a Revv 3 for distortion. Probably too much gain for the track but was just trying to cut through the mix a little.

@@eccentricgentlemen you did a good job, really. i'm trying to recreate with an ds-1 together with an boss delay and a little bit of flanger on the verses. but sometmes it seems the distortions seems a lot or a little less, idk how to explain.

@@MatheusRodrigues-ue3zz really, my tone isn’t close to the original. It’s just the way it’s sitting in the mix. The guitars in the song are panned out to the left and right and I have mine in the middle. It makes it sound like the effects are on my guitar but I don’t have any chorus/flange/phaser in my chain. On some of the other covers I put up, it’s nothing but my guitar plugged into my amp but sounds effected because of this. Ken Andrews has a video about setting up his Fractal for this song and he talks about the different amp models and effects he uses for this tone. Check it out.
