I could write a whole essay on this song. Everything is so perfect it hurts, he’s got interlocking themes emerging at different points in the verses, meaningful recurring motifs and turns of phrase that would make Keats shiver. There is talent out there we may never see, but the work you do preserving and presenting the poetry of kind deserves awards that don’t even exist yet. The pain in your life indeed, bless Also love 2:47 when homie on the left throats that thing and starts having Vietnam flashbacks

Till death do us part, so serious they sleep in they armor Understand my beef with the world I mean you don’t gotta do nothin’ And all of a sudden I’m stompin’ your girl And you don’t want wanna see your girl gettin’ kicked Or your drugs gettin’ pitched Chokehold the whole block bear hugging the strip (?) What if I seen all black, and my smoke was red And every time I look at my gun I think of my bread And every thought that I think is the worst Cause I be thinkin' like, I be thinkin' like If I was the slug then you’ll be the hearse And you’ll still be dead, the whole squad at the church Lookin at your casket self relaxed in the dirt Puttin’ in immaculate work My crib or the captain (?) is searched Plus my kid won’t get back what I earf (?) N*s is poor, n*s is thirsty N*s is gettin’ shot in the numbers in they jerseys N*s is hurtin’, bums is hungry I’m a song alive (?) I talked to the slums they heard me N*s can’t hurt me, the same for these chickens N*s ain’t worthy, I want n*s to stop snitchin' N*s is poor, they can’t score For forcin’ (?) feds at your damn door And that’s a damn shame, charge it to the damn game N*s droughted (?) They ain’t got no damn 'caine They ain’t got no damn pain No support no campaign Pop the cork off the champagne N*s is dying barely for nothin’ N*s mothers is crying, "Why do my son be buggin’?"
