A group of unemployed doctors have taken to the streets of Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal in protest to what they call a healthcare crisis. The doctors marched to the offices of the provincial Health Department. Last week, the Health Department blamed fiscal constraints for the lack of employment of hundreds of young health professionals, especially medical doctors who have completed statutory community service programmes.
