We did this trek on 4th May 2024. Awesome experience but very tiring and painful too. Location is very beautiful. Weather keeps changing so layered clothing is important. We started at 6.30 am and by 5 pm we were at the base. Best is to just use hotel spa which I did for recovery. Stay at Udumwara resort was a beautiful experience because of its location and just 10 min drive to the base of Tiger nest.

I’m traveling with a 72 year old lady. We do normal hikes and we’ve done up 4 to 5 hour hikes in the mountains but not at this time of elevation. We are going on October 2024. I was wondering if she will be able to do it?

Considering the terrain and elevation I would not recommend it! As there is no emergency medical assistance along the route! However if she finds it ok to ride a pony, going up to the cafe will also be a good experience!

This video is very comprehensive and well done. I love the graphics that help explain the terrain. Thank you so much for sharing. We booked this trip and are concerned how much trekking and climbing that we will have to do to reach the Tiger’ Nest monastery. We are all in the early 70s years old.

Hi, Nice videos. Very informative about Bhutan. Didn’t find last day video. Wanted to know what is the return route? Is it Paro to Phuentsholling-Bagdodara?

Last week I trekked from base to monastery. Return truck or getting down from monastery was more difficult. Please began your track at 0700 am itself

Yes one has to be extra careful while coming down! And we did that during darkness! So you are correct, better to start as early as possible!

Tank you! However sources on internet and Wiki say Paro Taktsang is a monastery! Please elaborate here, so that other viewers get to know why it should be considered as a temple and not a monastery!
