Just give us a switch with 2 hot swappable PSUs, then you can call it "enterprise" or "mission critical". 🙂

I disagree, I think that having tiny little proprietary batteries in each and every network device is the way forward 🤦♂️

That feature was never released… I figure it would have been also for having the same feature as the LTE unifi modem… I wonder if the mission critical switch already comes with a lte modem and we just don’t know about it yet

Hi, thanks for the review. I am interesting in this switch. May I asking is this switch could install on the Unifi Toolless Mini Rack? I saw the depth of this switch (480mm) is a little bit longer than the Toolless Mini Rack (460mm). Also, is the UPS function can work with the Synology NAS properly (means like the normal UPS such as USB UPS)? Thanks.

This switch is a solution searching for a problem that doesn't really exist. Give me dual PSU's, preferably hot swap and a external UPS any day over this product.

i would imagine the nano sim allows something similar to the lte backup, but built into the switch

To me its obvious why it has a nano sim, if your neighborhood power center is having issues you won't have an internet connection so if you want to control the machine you are still able to via the lte. Since the idea of the machine is to keep critical hardware running, what i do wonder is that if you are able to use the udm console if main internet falls down with this nano sim.

Do you know if the external DC connection can be used to charge the battery if its been depleted or can it only be used to discharge?

I am still trying to figures out what all the different UniFi power things are and how they differ and of course their individual use cases. Like they have the PDU that uses those weird ribbon cables. Where does that fit in this scheme? I am looking to add batter backup to my network for work. I need to power my udm pro, my usw-24-enterprise, my Wi-Fi 6LR, and a wall outlet (powers my ISPs ONT) Though my whole rack; server, pi’s et al, only uses ~130w

USP-RPS connected to Mission Critical must be the best, then the RPS will power all the connected? Would it work?

Well is a pretty cool device but at the price it's sell it.. I would say you can have like a pretty good ups and an external battery with. The things I see missing in this switch is the PSU Swappble and the battery swappable too..

Well done, however, I doubt this switch offers capabilities to built a 'real' HA network with it ... and hence it's just a switch with a battery - at the moment ...

This switch had little potential already, now given the price point, forget about it. You can expect this to always be in stock lol. On a side note, my Mophie portable battery for my iPhone (from my 5 years ago) has the same battery capacity as this thing lol...

they shouldve add LTE Backup SIM to UDM Pro SE. and this a very overpriced UPS. idk who comes up with these products. It's like they never worked in networking or I.T at all
