Question: Should I keep the switch on static or dynamic IP address?
@MAMDAVEM
3 жыл бұрын
I tend to reserve a block of addresses for system use, by setting the available range of addresses to be issued by the router to start from 100. I then give all my network systems devices static IP addresses. I have been fully unifi for a couple of years now. 5 switches, 3 Wifi Access points, 1 unifi camera and a USG-pro-4. would like to upgrade the USG-pro-4 as the max throughput I can get with threat management on is 280 mbps whereasas with it switched off I get 900 mbps throughput. Waiting for unifi to launch the uxg-pro.

Hello, good video! I have a switch Lite-16-PoE and AP U6+. When I connect port 15 switch to ISP router, I haven´t internet on any port. If I connect router to port 1 then I have internet, but only on ports 1 to 8, but ports 9 to 16 haven´t internet output. I can't have internet on all ports. Regards

I have this 16 port switch. Can I add another switch downstream from that from one of the ports? (e.g. in a basement to have a computer and xbox?)

Hello, I'm a clueless one and I need some info. When the device is installed, can I replace it with a new, equivalent device without having to re-program? So just plug in the cables? Thank you for your help! Heike from DE. :-)

I guess it depends on what you are replacing with!

Hi , I plan to buy 4 * unifi 6 lite access points. Should I buy USW-Lite-8-PoE or US-8-60W? The power budget shows 52w total for the USW-Lite-8-PoE so each lite access point needs 12w as per document. Also any idea if any other brand poe switch works with these access points?

Don’t know about that models specifics however any compatible POE device based on its standard would power the device! I feel there is synergy in having all with the same manufacturer one user interface

Hi, thanks for the review! I wonder if you can actually run this switch without connecting it to power? I read you can but some manuals are not clear :) I want to run this switch powerless and add injector to the line (where I have a power outlet available). Thanks in advance!

I think Ubiquiti got hit pretty hard with pandemic supply chain issues. I wanted to buy a couple of AP 6 Lite units, and they were sold out. I also signed up for the email alerts as Gio has suggested, and within a week or so, I got a notice that the units were back in stock. The message came in over the weekend, and I didn't have time to deal with it. So, a couple of days later, when I tried to purchase again, they were sold out again!! I contacted Ubiquiti, and they said they went fast. If you get the email, order what you want immediately. Now, like 2 weeks later, I'm still waiting. ~Frank

@@SmartHomeMakers Yes! I just installed a Dream Machine, a PoE switch, and a 5 port mini within a month. So I 'm anxious to get the APs. Like you, I need to get VLANs configured also.
