A Brief History of the Union Pacific Snowball Express
The Union Pacific Snowball Express was a passenger train that operated between Salt Lake City, Utah, and Park City, Utah, from 1965 to 1971. The train was named after the annual Snowball Express ski festival held in Park City.
The Snowball Express was a popular way for skiers and snowboarders to travel to Park City. The train featured comfortable coaches, a dining car, and a lounge car. It also had a unique feature: a ski storage area where passengers could store their skis
The Snowball Express was discontinued in 1971 due to declining ridership. However, it remains a fond memory for many Utahns who remember skiing on Park City's slopes.
