As my dad might say, these children are 'being handicapped' by being raised this way. Because one day they'll be spending money they don't have on all the wrong things and they might not even stop even when they can't afford food for the pantry because they just so desperately NEED that Dior bag that just came in stock. Besides Romi, who is actually using the money spent on her to work her way to success (like she got a scholarship? You go girl), the other kids are just being taught to spend money in a way that prioritizes whims instead of prioritizing on necessities. Some of which include, but are not limited to bills and food. It's just going to hurt them later in life because someway, somehow even if that somehow is the hard way, they'll end up learning the miserable consequences of spending money that you don't have to spare on useless things. It's sad really.

The problem with spoiling kids in the way the families in the show did, is that youre not teaching your kids extremely important life lessons that they will need to survive when theyre older. Its like never teaching your kids to cook, or clean etc. Youre setting them up for failure if you spoil them over and over again, they dont know the value of the things theyre getting and how much you need to work for that. Is youre spoiling kids who have worked for it (like Romi) then yeah sure, as long as youre still teaching them the value of money. But people like Chases parents are literally just setting her up to either live with them forever, or struggle immensely when she moves out.

It's "funny" how none of these families are actually wealthy, but just having multiple jobs or living in a rent, reality gonna hit really hard when these kids grow up and realize they wont be able to afford their "Chanel" bag unless they live renting someone else's house and eat frozen fries every day. These people really need to get their priorities straight, horrible lesson to be taught to a kid that luxury brands or expensive things are a priority when you cant even afford your own house
@rexana

The young lad's family seemed pretty wealthy, judging by their house, car, the jobs it said they had, and the fact his dad obviously earned enough to be able to retire early! His dad must have only been late 40s at the most here, if he was already able to retire by then, then they're obviously pretty well off. Kid might be getting spoiled, but at least it's within their means and the lad seems to appreciate it rather than just expecting it. Honestly If they can genuinely afford it, then I don't see a problem, it's their business. The ones who bought their kid a pony while they're in rent arrears and no food in the fridge are just daft, and the lady working 3 min wage jobs to buy her ungrateful kids stuff they don't even use I just found sad :(

I grew up in a family like the one with the daughter with the horse. My parents gave me everything and I didn’t worry about money at all. I remember my mom and I going to TJ Maxx after school on random Wednesdays and dropping $300+ on clothes/other shit we didnt need. That was extremely normal to me and my family never talked about money so i always just assumed they could afford it. I never learned any money management skills or even the value of a dollar. It was just a credit card swipe to me. It didn’t hit me that I didn’t come from a wealthy family until after college. My parents didn’t own their home, I owed thousands of dollars in student debt, and I was all on my own. It was terrifying feeling financial insecurity for the first time in my life and not knowing what to do. I’m still figuring out how to deal w money in a healthy way. My partner comes from a genuinely wealthy family and the difference in how we approach budgeting is drastic. I’m learning as we go but it’s been difficult. I hope the parents know they’re not doing their children any favors by acting like money isn’t an issue when it is. Teach your kids about budgeting, tell them when you can’t afford something, opt for paying off your mortgage before a shopping spree. These are real skills that are necessary for navigating the adult world.

I do know how to use my money and never go crazy as my family calls me a squirrel 🐿 not wanting to spend my cash even though I’ve got so much😂. I don’t demand my parents money but I do ask if they can do there best to get me something that I would like and they usally say yes but you have to do this and this so I actually work for the reward like in the real world. I felt so sad for her. My dad works 3 jobs and my mum as well and I still don’t get as much as them. Though, I’m pretty sure my parents earn more and they still don’t get me all that stuff. Not just the kids but the mindset of the mum. I get that it will be hard having a teen that is (quite frankly) manipulative, but even with being told by friends she still gives in. The lady has to learn to say no. Then again, it must be exhausting to do all of those jobs and then have the hard earned money go down the drain.

I literally can't stand Chase's dad, he has spent a ton of money on his daughter, and takes advantage of his wife, when they need to save,SELFISH SELFISH MAN! He only wants to spend money on Chase so he can spend time with her, when he has more thing he can do than spend on her

Of all the outrageous, embarrassing, and shameful behavior I've seen. This has to be some of the worst cases I've seen of children "having the gimmies". But the worst part is that it's the parents' fault for giving in and allowing it. I remember maybe acting like that but my parents were more smarter and put me in my place. Because some of my behavior was embarrassing them in public. But I've really learned my lesson now. So to anyone out there, I'll give you all a simple talk: There are more important things than getting as many treats as you can get your hands on. Greedy, spoiled, selfish, and rude children, who only think of themselves, can never really be happy. You know why? Because you can't have everything you want in life all the time. And furthermore, it's way better to think of others sometimes, instead of just yourselves.

@KEVIN AMAYA-CALDERON what a weird comment to pass .... women who take men to family court over child support are usually receiving no payments or measly payments..... its expensive raising kids and a man should be paying half.... why turn around and say you " would usually hate women "... for that... huge misogynistic vibes

@@_year-sb6sy Exactly! 30% of single US mothers don't receive any child support from the father of the child at all, 60% only get part. Children have a right to being supported by their parents. F**k any man or woman who doesn't. They deserve to be dragged to court and have the child support "squeezed" out of them. Takes two to tango after all. I can't believe 4 people liked their comment.

I live in a very wealthy household. i have 3 older brothers, and i’m a 12 year old girl. i’m very grateful for what i have and where i am, but i will say i dont get what i want. my family has a lot of money, but i don’t just get things cause i want it. My parents purposely say that i can’t get that not because we can’t afford it or because i don’t need it, but because they don’t want me getting used to just getting whatever i want when i want it. they show me it’s so important to work for what you get, which is why i get money for my good test results or when i do chores around the house. i wouldn’t like to be a spoiled child, and i know i’m not because my parents are smart and choose to not give me everything i want, but if i was spoiled i wouldn’t be ready for the REAL world when i’m older, so i am so grateful that i have smart parents who care not just about what i get and what i don’t get, but what amazing person i will grow into.

She was almost tearful and apologized because she thought it would make me upset. I think her demeanor caught me off guard for a moment, but I was just getting old enough to start recognizing we were lower income, so that helped me not be as surprised by what she said.
