Pikal blades usually comes with retention rings and/or finger guards because it is supposed to used in reverse grip stabbing the hell out of everything. This blade looks particularly prone to hand injuries while using this way.

Maybe it’s supposed to fit in the fifth pocket of your jeans. That would make sense to me for why it’s so small. That wouldn’t be hard to access at all, but you’d have to go righty. (Although I have some LAPG jeans that have a “fifth pocket” on both sides.) I have a couple of top-flippers that I can deploy upside down with my pinky, I’ll bet you could do that on this one, too. Nevertheless my hand is probably about the same size as yours and I really wouldn’t like being so close to that edge. I would like to try a Pikal folder but this one probably isn’t worth the $$$ for me.

It haunts me to this day, Kev. It was 1987. 132 degrees in Bakersfield. I had my 87 oz. Slurpee with three long red straws pushed through the slot, my two friends waiting outside with our bikes. We had all put in a dime and had gone miles. I was heading to the counter to pay when a man with facial tattoos appeared demanding my Slurpee. I knew what to do next. Trained by the best. I handed it over. He smiled, wrapped his lips around all three straws, and drank deep... 5, 6, 7, 8 deep pulls. I remember the sound. Now, this is what haunts me, Kev. He collaped...tactical brain freeze. I killed a man that day. I could have saved him, but I walked outside and watched my friends drink out of those disgusting straws.

I believe people measure across their palm perpendicular to what you were doing. At least I've seen people do it that way but maybe it's not "the way":)

Thanks for the video! I believe the intention of the name Kage is "shadow" in Japanese, and is pronounced kaw-gay. Cool little knife with the implied ito-wrapping look, as well.

A self-defense weapon it is not. But it sure is cool. It looks super fidgety too. 👍

It's not cage... It's kagē. Shadow in Japanese. The pattern is like a Japanese tsuka on a katana.

This is cool looking, but that's a little rich for me for a style of knife I have no idea how to use properly. Not saying it's not worth 188, but for that money I can find plenty of knives that I can at least intelligently use.... With this pikal, I'd be out of the gas station fight before I ever deployed. That other knife is rather dope though

Tsuka Ito is the cord wrap pattern on Japanese/Samurai blades.I think this is the look they’re going for. Don’t know if it works.
