Great informative video! This plugin is a steal at the Beta price. My goto is Scuffham S-Gear but I think the Electrum is going to give me an alternative when I need a quick fix...

Love your channel!! I've been trying this... It's the cleanest amp sim I've ever used. You don't even need the gate. I'm don't get the orange amp though... Just can't get it to sound good. The other amps are all great. I'd say: blue=twin reverb, yellow=bassman/bluesbreaker, orange=horrible orange sim, red=marshall, black=some cool metal amp.

How did you get rid of the latency problem? Even with my buffer sample size set really low in my DAW it still has an annoying delay between hitting the string and hearing the sound. Or do you always have to record a clean signal and add the Electrum effect later? Thanks!
@LonelyRocker
3 жыл бұрын
That’s a hard question to answer because I don’t know what’s causing your latency. I have bad latency in my system but Electrum was fine. Try bouncing out your mix without guitars and open a fresh project. Bring in the backing track and just record guitars in that project with Electrum. See if the latency is better. You can then move the guitar tracks into your main mix.

Is this the right product to get some classic overdrive with even/odd harmonics in the tones and sound of Van Halen/Erick Johnson/Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Alan Holdsworth? Most of what I see in these types of emulator software is heavy metal distortion presets. Why is no one dialing in these classic lead sounds of the artists I mention.
@LonelyRocker
3 жыл бұрын
That's very subjective but this plugin does have 5 amps ranging from lower gain bluesy tones up to high gain and everything in between. I'm sure you could dial in some more classic tones...that's generally more my flavour....

@@LonelyRocker I really appreciate your incite on this. I have Amplitude Max and Guitar Pro and probably don't need Electrum but I keep looking for new guitar plugin tools that have the classic Van Halen/Erick Johnson/Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Alan Holdsworth signature patches dialed in. I've asked several LA "guitar techs" why no one is taking the time to dial in and create these signature sounds--- no one has a firm answer. I'd pay big bucks to have the sound chains already created even with the info on guitar and pick-up configs. It is quite easy to dial in Metallica and heavy metal sounds but the aforementioned is impossible to find.

@@gypsyfolklore Did you try the Satriani presets on Amplitube Max in the Joe Satriani pack? They're pretty good.
@LonelyRocker

@gypsyfolklore I think some of those tones are so signature they often come off cheesy. Especially since their techniques were so critical to those tones. I've seen many patches but they never sound like the real deal...just my opinion...

@@myactiveimagination I have the older Amplitude Max version 4.9.1 with ability to add AmpliTube MAX - Ver. 4.10.0 Are the Satriani presets available in ver 4.10.0 or are they only available in the latest Amplitude MAX 5.0 I do know if upgrading to Amplitude Max 5.0 is worth paying $300----do you have any opinions on this?

Can you connect your guitar to an interface then to the Electrum then out to your amp in order to use use an amp to play, instead of routing to a computer to record?
@LonelyRocker
3 жыл бұрын
If you are routing to an interface you are routing to a computer. The plugin is hosted in a DAW ON a computer. So I think you answered your own question :). But I kind of understand your question. You want to use the plugin as an effects unit for your guitar amp. You could route the audio in and out of your computer and then into your amp but I'm not sure it would give you the desired results and you may have latency to contend with depending on your computer...plus your signal chain would be out of whack as ALL of your effects would be in front of your amp...

that limiter is fucked though. Sounds weird to me. Also I bought it during beta expecting there would be improvement. To me it seems like they just don't care anymore no substantial updates so far..I really liked the idea of having everything accessible at once which is why I got it. Kinda disappointed with United Plugins
