Bought one of these a week ago. So nice to see my temperature several degrees above what I set my heat pump.

I bought this wood stove brand new about 3 years ago and had it in storage until yesterday, 11-16-22, when i ripped out the factory installed "insert" fireplace. Got it installed and burned with it last night for the very first run. HOLY COW. I am impressed. However, when i first got it, It was on sale at Bomgaars for 499, in Spring, and i actually thought it was still too much money for no bigger than it was and also been regretting getting it this whole time, imagining that it would be too small. Anyway, living in a cheapo double wide trailer with only 4 inch walls, I've been thinking that no bigger it is that it would probably not heat this place but to my surprise and delight, my furnace didn't kick on all night here in Nebraska and it was about 11° this morning. I had a box fan in the midhome hallway blowing cool air to the front living room and we could instantly feel the back rooms warm right up with the hot ceiling air returning. Just WOW, this little stove is very warm and i can also attest that from the time I choked the damper down at 10pm to waking at 5am i still had fire and a major bright glowing coal bed, and remarkably, i probably used a 3rd of the wood that the insert would have used. I'm impressed. Should've installed it last year when we moved here.

I've had mine for a couple years now, with a damper on it and without the blower it works just dandy.

I’m not even sure why the air intake damper is installed in an iron channel that only opens at the top of the stove it what looks like a hot air exhaust. In trying to figure out why an exterior intake I installed made no difference at all, I blew air into the damper intake on bottom of stove and sure enough, it blew out the top of the stove. So even though it looks like air flow can be controlled by the damper at the bottom, it is actually pulling air in from the top vents, effectively making the air intake at the back of the stove useless . The manual suggested otherwise. Since it’s been over 4 years, my next move is to drill some air intake holes

Got mine for $599. The blower is kinda a gimmick. On high its noisy. I run a ceiling fan and a box fan to move the air. I did the chimney pipe myself. Its been twenty years since I heated with wood. This is a supplement to my gas heat I have. Its cut my bill in half. I still havent used any fire caulking around the pipe hook up. Ive seen some smoke puff out of the joint once with the flu closed choking a fire down. I have a shop vac I keep the are cleaned up with. The ash pan is a crapper, you have to shop vac behind it each use. When you pull the pan out the overage falls off the back. When you put it back in its riding on the ashes. Its built like a tank with a positive latching door.

the 2000 means 2.0 cu ft. i have the same stove under the county hearth brand. took off the blower. i worry about the cement i had to use to secure the collar to the adapter. the customer service guy said thats the way its done. mine is almost 5 years old. i changed the firebricks in the back, smacking them with wood cracked them. i paid a lot more for mine, but it included a delivery on a semi. im happy with mine. my local heart and home guy said he charges 600 just to put the vent throught the roof, so i saved a lot doing that part myself. i have tiles also and i fashioned a shield on both walls that create convection air movement.

Could a stove like this be vented into an existing clay lined chimney without the steel liner? Some people say it will work fine; others say it won't.

Josh Sheets I did for 20 years until the clay pipe disintegrated. Then l lined it with a stainless steel liner. You should be fine.

Like the review and am in the middle of a hunt to get new stove and thanks for your review.

Thank you. Nope, zero issues with drafting on this stove for us. It is several years old now and I couldn't be happier with it's performance. Once it begins to reach operating temps (at least 250F) I shut and latch the door and it is good to go.

@@ktoutdoors8430 During the initial start up yes, but usually for just a minute or two while confirming the fire has lit. Depending on the outside temp/temp of your flu will determine how quickly it forms a strong draft.

I've got same model and after 4 years it hardly drafts at all anymore. Cleaned pipe / cap a couple times a year and the only way it drafts is if I leave the door cracked . Sucks because it wasn't cheap and I'll have to get a different one

I would be only guessing but it sounds like there is an air leak somewhere. We just installed a US stove model 2500 in our large fireplace in the living room. The door was slightly warped enough that it would not seal tight. They sent us another door and now, with a good fire, the draw is strong enough to just about close the door by itself. Thanks for watching.

Hey Chad, I have the same stove and maybe the same problem. After a few years it just would not draft and heat as it once did. What fixed my problem was to blow out the air chamber inside the stove. Pull out your ash drawer and in the middle, you will see the hole for the air chamber. Use an air compressor and blow the into that hole. I had the glass door open and ash will come out of the top of the vents on the stove that are hidden when the door is closed. I used a vacum cleaner to suck up some of the ash coming out of the vents. Be carefull because it can be messy. This summer I pulled the stove out of the house re blew all the vents and it had alot a ash inside the chamber that plugs up the air intake but what a difference it will make. Just like new again.
