Dude your studio set is CRAZY!!!🗣🎉. GREAT VIDEO!! I am resolute on upgrading to a rackmount version like you have there. I watch the videos out there, denouncing the need for the Apollo interfaces since the M1 Mac arrivals. Yeah, I’ve heard a lot about their still being pops and clicks in peoples audio just using Mac processing power. The Apollo brings security to a set up and I cannot wait. Thank you for so well and eloquently explaining, and even with the visual displays. I am so set now, and I am never looking back.

So sir, would u suggest the Audient more then the Apollo 8 channel?
@jeremiahcooper3172
Жыл бұрын
@@federicopalomba6808 personally I’d recommend the Audient in conjunction with the 8 channel Apollo. The problem is the digital ins/outs. UA doesn’t make any expander units to take advantage of those, and the Audient is a nice expander unit. So for example, it’s an easy way to get from the Apollo x8 into a 16 channel summing mixer. Use the 8 analog outs from the Apollo directly to the summing mixer, and then the 8 digital outs from the Apollo into the Audient to convert them to analog, then into the summing mixer.

I have a Focusrite Solo + an AKG C414 XLII …always thought this would be sufficient to get a pro sound (with good mixing & mastering obviously-which I currently do myself)... I have heard the rave about Apollos for a long time... I've been wondering if getting an Apollo Solo would actually make much of a difference on sound quality in the end result... wondering if you have any thoughts on this-whether it would really make so much difference in achieving a pro sound, especially with the cost in mind... I suppose I should mention I live in a van. So any interface requiring DC power isn't applicable to me.

That’s a very good mic. I think you’d notice a good improvement moving up to an Apollo Twin but it’s mains powered. The Apollo Solo would also be an improvement on the Scarlett and is bus powered (TB3 only, which means 2016 Macs onwards). The Unison preamps would give you lots of preamp palette options.

I don’t know man I’ve spent thousands on Apollo and had no idea that you can’t use all of your DSP in one track. It’s divided even know they made new features to combat this there’s still a lot of limitation that they do not explain to buyers before they purchase. Because of this and a lot of DSP gets wasted because I can’t use it anyway so I never needed it. Other than that it’s the best sounding interface I’ve ever had for studio and live use. Nothing else compares to it in general in my opinion. If it wasn’t for the third-party app, midi control I could’ve never used it though. I think they need to spend more time with Midi and implementing the iPad Pro M1

Other than wallet constraints, why would I buy a Volt 276 rather than an Apollo Solo and just load a 610B and an 1176 into the DSP? The Solo seems to offer so much more in the way of specs and versatility. If I wanted to model an API chain other than the 610/1176 the Solo can do that in its DSP, while the 276 is stuck at being a one-trick pony.

If budget is not a problem, the Twin/X4 offer the most flexibility/expandability/DSP power. They’re much more versatile than the Volt series which is an entry level interface (albeit one of the best).

My criticism is about audio interface demos. I'm not saying to you but all interface videos are mostly talking without any sounds. I prefer the other way around. Also, Let me ask you a stupid question. I have Volt and I find it lacks clarity compared to ID14. On the other hand, I like the Volt's warmth and ID14 sounds a bit metallic and unpleasant to me. Related to that I plan to move Apollo Solo but I'm not sure if there is a night and day difference between them. I record guitar mostly and actually, I quite like the Volt but I wonder if solo is much better. Thanks.
