Ive loved the windowed bullet seating die on my RCBS dies, Im glad to see other manufactures copy it because it was such a welcome feature for me and really helps me get into a grove loading.

These RCBS dies are the best especialy with the RC Supreme easy below 0.001-2" runout.

I have been using one of these for over a year, and I usually get runout in the .0005" to .002" range. I have segregated the lowest runout cases, and reloaded them time and time again, and the runout remains nearly the same after each reloading. I am convinced that the inherent runout is set at time of manufacture of the brass, and that a case that results in .002" runout will have that, or nearly that runout in subsequent reuses. Nearly impossible to change a cases inherent runout by mechanical means. If the brass formulation is uneven, then the case neck will expand more on one side than the other as the bullet is seated, and we as reloaders can do nothing to fix that.

What if you use a mandrel inside the neck and use a neck turner to trim the diameter of the case neck?

@@jj-eg5up If the case necks are uneven in thickness, and you have enough minimum thickness that meets requirement, then neck turning will reduce some of the inherent runout, However, if the case walls are not of uniform wall thickness, then neck turning will only cure part of the runout problem.
