My dad had a friend who also made a doom wad of their high school just before this happened, they ended up not telling anyone after for obvious reasons. Ngl I'm curious about that WAD file as it seems interesting, but my dad hasn't talked to that person in decades and the chances of him having the WAD file still is astronomically slim

Okay, as someone who’s really into Doom’s modding scene and has even done some stuff myself, I assure you, Eric’s levels weren’t even all that good. They had pretty atrocious map design, shoddy monster placement and a general lack of cohesion throughout, as well as being super generic and bland. “No one I know can recreate environments in Doom as good as me!” My ass. Also, “Mr. Doom-expert”, it’s UAC not UCA! (Great video by the way)

OMG I once rented a VHS tape of 'Jumanji' when I was a kid, and there was an ad for the IHNMAIMS video game before the movie that scared me so bad I had to sleep with the light on for a couple months. I still remember bits of it, and I've tried googling it since then, but I think it's sadly also lost media now

Hello! @24:53, I believe it's Japan due to the traditional red rice paper balloons but it could also be other countries and the guy is in front of a Japanese themed restaurant (which rice paper balloons are usually used to advertise). Although the signs are written entirely in kanji/Chinese characters, that doesn't necessarily mean it takes place in a Chinese speaking country. Additionally on the sign to the right, it looks like it includes furigana which is a reading aid for kanji that includes a smaller set of corresponding hiragana to the side. Please correct me if wrong. Also, I think there's a possibility that everyone is overlooking: what if the heart-man is a mascot or "yuru-chara" (ゆるキャラ)? In Japan, there are mascots for everything from cities to even healthcare facilities and government programs! There are even unofficial mascots like the very famous Chii-tan who was featured on John Oliver. Although mascots are usually very plush and round, there are a handful of mascots who are basically guys in skintight suits with some weird aspect to them (G-nenjer, who is a zombie potato comes to mind). However, I do not know if yuru-chara were popular back in the 90s because the official catalogue of all yuru-chara only goes back to 2011. It's worth looking and asking around the Japanese web! Good luck with the search!

Likely the case, especially if it's aimed a children (evidenced by the photo of heart-man in the school classroom). Western countries had mascots for a lot of random stuff back in the 90's; I remember a nationwide bank had mascots to teach kids to save money, and I can recall seeing mascots for kidney stuff (grew up with polycystic kidneys and had to go see specialists a fair bit as a kid).

The 90s were too peaceful, the adults of the 90s were too concerned with violence in video games, they completely ignored the real violence in real life and that was why 9 11 and wars in the 2000s happened that we still see to this day.

Considering the content of the pink heart man it's likely it comes from Japan because if you examine Japans media history particularly commercials, you'll notice a pattern of strange imagery used in their commercials to convey some commentary on modern day expectations of the citizens.

You need to have more context, less generalisation and more validated source material to be convincing. Random photos and film clips with no translation or context don't cut it. Neither does personal opinion/bias within commentary either. Also, just because somebody who does something bad is influenced by a game doesn't mean that the game is wrong, but the mental health of those committing the crime is. Clever editing is nothing unless the overall discussion and debate is well researched and intelligently conveyed.
