I have watched a ton of 6 stroke videos. Your approach has been the best one. 'How you hear it', was the illustration that made it click for me.

Been struggling with my six stroke roll for a few months, until I saw this video and advice on ˝hearing it wrong˝. Once I changed the way I am hearing it, all of the sudden I got faster and more accurate. Great lesson! Thanks

I have been looking at a number of lessons on the six stroke roll and to me this seems to be the best by some margin. Really clear and uncomplicated. I am about to move onto Part Two! Thanks.

So far, after looking at 6-stroke roll videos by many over a couple of weeks, this is by far the best I've found for an intermediate drummer . I love Rob Brown, Niels Myrner, Quincy Davis, get a lot from Stephan Taylor, but this is better. The explanation on hearing it just right, and thinking of the double as a single stroke, is super helpful. Thanks!

Learning the 6 Stroke Roll was the best, and worst thing that I've ever learnt. 🤣 I. Can't. Stop. Using. It!

Good lesson Dog! Its a great sounding roll. And more fun to play than straight single strokes.

Just an important note...this is different from the way the 6-stroke roll is played in the NYSSMA manual for snare drum evaluations. It is written as 1-8th, 4-16ths, 1-8th.

Came here to say this. I'm so confused. It seems youtube is divided on the matter.

No one talks about triplets and doing sixteen note trip and dotted sixteen note trips! Drummers see a lot of black on the page and panic!
