Nick, how long did it take to ship it to you? Im on day 45 and the boat has not landed in the US. They told me it would be 30 days door to door. Think the ship may have sunk...

Hey Nicholas has anything gone wrong with the bike ever since you got it

Great question Easton, It's been just over a year since I got my bike and apart from replacing the chainring and rear wheel spokes on my bike, it has been trouble free. My wife received hers in July last year and hers is in original condition. Meaning I have not touched it. Not replaced any parts. I regularly lubricate all moving parts, when if I don't keep the bike clean I do make sure it's mechanically running well. I just serviced it three weeks ago. During the service I signed the rear brakes so that the parts for perfectly on the disc rotor. As I was one of the first to receive my bike, any issues I've had look like Nireeka have since fixed and all their new frames modified to resolve the brake assignment as well. It is a wonderful bike to ride and like any other bike, if you want it to last you have to look after it maintenance wise. I ride my bike mainly off-road on hills and MTB tracks. It performs perfectly fine. I'm no bike Pro rider. I don't do stunts or crazy big jumps on it but I do chrome l challenge my self and fallen off a few times and it has survived without a scratch surprising lol. I had my biggest fall last month coming down a rocky track when the front tyre hit a rock and popped. I lost control and went down hard. Apart from the handle needing realignment emerging on the bike was perfectly fine. I had to wait 3 weeks for my wrist to come good before I could ride again. Lol

Thanks! :) Do we have to change important things, like spokes, chain rings or other parts?

I would personally make sure everything is checked, tightened and maintained. You may have to keep an eye on it after each ride to start off with. Check if your chainring is a wide-narrow tooth and if not ask Nireeka to send you one or just buy one. They are pretty cheap. If you do a lot of road riding you may be fine with the bike just the way it is. If you like to go off road you may need to make some changes or upgrades. However I would only do this as you need too. I changed my spokes because they kept coming loose and then I finally broke one so I decided to change the spokes and pattern on my bike. However I may not need to do this on my wife's bike because she will not be riding on mountain bike tracks like I do.

@@NicholasRaftopoulos what Motor do you have and what spokes do you use now?
@NicholasRaftopoulos

@@MrMo-gr5ob This bike has a 500w motor with the standard spokes as supplied by Nireeka. My bike has the same motor but have re-spoked with a radial pattern using 188-190mm Black Double-Butted BMX Spokes.. I don't recommend changing to this pattern for as I am only testing it at this stage. Radial pattern is where the spokes do not cross each other. It saves weight but it is said to be weaker. The reason I chose this pattern is because the spoke length is small due to the big hub and it reduced prevented the spokes from pending so much in comparison to the 3 cross method

@@NicholasRaftopoulos hello Nicholas, thanks for the reply. If your testing is done it would be nice if you show more details about it. I don't know if you already know it but it would be nice if you would join "The unoffical Nireeka Discord Server". I created it as alternative to FB and the IGG Comments. You find it here: discord.gg/4gqFnC9

@@MrMo-gr5ob on this bike everything is standard, just as Nireeka supplied it. On my bike however I have changed the spokes and spoke pattern. Please join the Facebook group Nireeka backers and owners as I have posted lots of videos and photos helping other Nireeka backers and owners. I cannot personally cope with too many social groups. I've even stopped going on IGG and the Nireeka forum. The Facebook group is enough and very helpful to everyone within the group.

@@NicholasRaftopoulos Mine is on the top heading to USA. I haven't ridden a bike for 20 years and got a wild hair up my butt and bought the Homie.. I dont really see myself using it as a mountain bike, just easy trails and pavement. Any advise? oh, I should say I ordered the 500w with the big 14 AH battery. Great videos. you need to do more of them so I dont burn this one out and break youtube.

Thank you Slick Willy, great to see you've upgraded the battery. The best advice I can give you is to either take the bike to a bike mechanic to put it together and give it a really good service including tensioning the spokes and all screws on the frame. It will save you a lot of downtime when you start riding the bike. I personally have turned PAS and only ride with the throttle, at least until we recurve the ECU. Riding with PAS dangerous without the ECU. Also keep your drivetrain clean and lubed as well as the suspension. I don't mind letting my bike get dirty but I do keep it lubed. Thank you about the videos too. I would love to do more. I've been a little caught up on my personal life and not ridden much lately but I certainly would love to do more videos.

@@NicholasRaftopoulos What happened to your ECU? How is it possible you can ride without one? As far as the bike mechanic, sounds like good advice and will make sure it gets done thanks.
