There is no long term thinking. If a car is 20 years old there should still be part to be had but I doubt you can get parts after 5 years for any of these EVs. Heck, how many of these manufactures will even be around in 5 years?

I would agree with you, for the most part, being from the ICE car era. But if you have the money, there is nothing faster in a straight line on an unprepared surface than the Tesla S plaid,Stock,FOR THE MONEY and with a warranty. That explosion the electric car has with four-wheel-drive is something to behold on new asphalt. And this is a bonus that I had never thought about driving a 1000+ horsepower car and can scream by other cars at full throttle, and they could care less for the most part. Pretty good benefit when you like to haul … though I would never own one as a primary or even a secondary vehicle.

I was recommended to buy a new battery for my Merc as it had some starting problems due to a faulty crankshaft sensor. The sensor cost £300 including installation a bill I would have preferred not to have received. I refused their kind offer of a new battery at an eye-watering price of £245 and the original one which is already over 10 years old, seems to have recovered its effectiveness. Imagine what it would be like to be told that you need to spend between £17-35,000 for a new battery? This problem should make all EVs unsellable even if no other problem exists. ICEVs are not considered to be disposable items as we still have ICEVs on our roads that are over 90 years old. The real irony is that EVs are considered the Green option by anyone but alleged habitual liar Elon Musk. Making all new cars disposable products with no more than 15-year lifespans is an ecological and social disaster simply waiting to happen.

What a dumb video. There are lots of used car graveyards in North America. There must be a crisis in car quality? Over 30% of the Chinese auto market is EV's. Most of the taxis in China are EV's these days. That is because the Chinese EV's are cheap and the quality has improved substantially in recent years. They also save cost with the crazy gas price. A taxi driver won't buy a EV unless it is reliable ... as their income depends on it.

Bicycles, ebikes, electric cargo bicycles, robo taxis and escooters are great options for last mile, short distance travel. Reduced transportation costs and fossil fuels free transportation. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles by providing SAFE, PROTECTED BIKE LANES and trails. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for health or ride for fun. Children should be able to ride a bicycle to school without having to dodge cars and trucks. Separated and protected bike lanes are required. It will also make the roads safer for automobile drivers. Transportation planners and elected officials need to encourage people to walk, bike and take public transportation. Healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. In the future cities will be redesigned for people not cars. Crazy big parking lots will be transformed with solar canopies generating free energy from the sun.
