Great video. I just noticed 3 unrecognised countries that you missed: 1) Western Sahara 2) Somaliland 3) Biafra. I did learn a lot, especially about ones that I didn't know. E.g. I never knew that Cabinda had an independence movement. About the Bantustans, Tran-sky and Si-sky is how Transkei and Ciskei are pronounced. Bo-futa-tswana is how Bophutatswana is pronounced. Good luck with future videos.

Except Bir Tawil is not a forgotten or "overlooked" region on the border. Both Egypt and Sudan know about it and claim in belongs to the other, in order to maintain their own claim on the region of Hala'ib. If one country claimed Bir Tawil, it would imply that they accept the other country's preferred border, giving them the larger and richer region of Hala'ib.

Kaliningrad is not a "Russian enclave in Europe", is a Russian EXclave... Cabinda is just an Angolian exclave. There are tons of exclave examples, it's just that most are extremely small and don't show up on maps. Spain has one in France (Llívia), Belgium and The Netherlands have tons of them in their frontier, etc. Exclaves can be enclaves, if they are completely sorrounded by ONE country, for example Llívia is both an exclave of Spain, and an enclave inside France. I can't believe you don't know that, given that you dedicate all your time to do these videos...

5:47 *exclave. An enclave is surrounded by a country as a whole. An exclave is land away from the primary land due to a border with other countries in between.

General Knowledge, I love this video, but there is a mix up about Ambazonia. Ambazonia in 1984 only witness a change of name and flag. The territory called Ambazonia got her independence on the 1 October 1961 with the name British Southern Cameroons with their own flag, in 2017 what we have is a restoration of independence from the French Cameroon who assimilated the territory after independence

@@inkoalawetrust You are so ignorant. Whether other Africans know about Biafra is irrelevant, most Nigerians know about the Biafran war. Nearly 3 million Biafrans died (after just wanting independence...) and there is still strong desire for independence. It shouldn't have been left off of the list. Also, you claim Biafra doesn't exist, but the point of the video "unrecognized countries"... 🤦

I believe, after Gheddafi's death and the consequent civil war, Libia is now de facto split in those same regions displayed in the video.

Yes indeed. There, an Irish UN small force held out against superior in numbers Katangese (+ mercanaries) for a while. In the end, the Irish ran out of ammo and so had to concede. There is a film re this: the Siege Of Jadotville..

There are hundreds, if not thousands of unrecognized countries, independence movements, and separatist movements across Africa. Specifically Sub Saharan Africa, due to the artificial borders. They should redraw their borders and create many new countries to ease the tensions.
