Here’s how submetering works: A private company contracts with landlords or property managers to buy utilities at a bulk price and resells them to residents.
So AEP will screw you over and so will every other company.

Whenever weird things happen you always have to follow the money. Who benefits from this arrangement? Undisclosed profits sharing with the property management company? Or simply kickbacks for an individual.

Listen to them admit what's going on, and still do nothing about it... remember, they 'care' about us.

But who likes regulations right?? This is what you get Ohio, if your voters decline to regulate.... So I don't feel sorry for you.

I'm a homeowner in the Flats in Harrison West. Our HOA tells us that National Energy Partners is our only option. It's a sub metering company that our HOA has a contract with. Wish someone would have told me when I purchased here. Just paid $204.00 for electric/water in my 1 br condo and haven't even used the heat or a/c. Something is rotten in Denmark.

NEVER buy a home with an HOA is what someone should have told you.

@@yusky03 I just moved here from Pasadena, Ca. Have had several condos with HOA communities. This is a unique issue with Columbus. Never imagined the state or city would allow this corruption to exist. Never had this issue in California.

This is nothing new if you've lived in an apartment community. Look around at how many apartments they're building too.

I ran into this issue. I pay over $100 more a month then I ever have in the last decade because I can't shop around. I hope this changes.
