Only Unsane would release a single and video about a suicide bomber right after signing to a major label. Love this band.

They were really only part of Matador which is not a major, but had an Atlantic promo. The band didnt see much money from one of their tightest albums. I think the video was a "fuck you" to Atlantic, because Atlantic wanted a vid for MTV and this vid got insta banned by MTV and Atlantic lost money.

You were right then @Dreddloxx , and your comment is even righter now 15 years later. Things changed when Charlie died. With him they were Classic; but here at Jim Thirwell's place, and since, is only Great. JimT introducing this video on MTV in '96 is a laugh: kzitem.info/news/bejne/x36OuWaaf5Z7onY But seriously, the precog at 3:28

The Review for this in Flipside late 92-early 93 was written by me. They were kinda pissed at me for writing such a good review about an Atlantic promoted band until they found out about the Matador-Atlantic deal. BTW the review was for the German release which I believe came out a year before the US release but it was the record I was sent. I didnt even know my friends couldnt get the album until they told me lol.

As far as I know,it wasn't Dave (the bass player) singing the verses (if the memory don't tricks me,in the album credits there was no mention about someone else's vocals,aside Chris's...);but in this video looks like he did... Can someone let me know more about it?
@micklee5152

Pete Shore played bass on this album (total destruction) and the first self titled album, and the early singles, and shared vocals with Chris, although Chris sang mainly. Pete is playing bass in this video. Dave replaced him on the next album, (scattered covered smothered)

@@micklee5152 THANKS A LOT FOR THE INFO. Oh, yeah, I had forgot was Pete the bass player in this one too (before Chris and Vincent triggered him, apparently just hiding his toothpaste cap until he left the band!!!). But I remember there was no album credits mentioning he (or someone else) did some vocals/backing vocals. I could be wrong about it, because I don't have an actual copy of this album since... uhm, I don't know, at least 20 years ago! Anyway thanks again: one of my existential doubts it's now solved! ✔

@@micklee5152 no traces of Pete, as far as I know! But, I have to say: I have kinda lived under a rock for long time, and "discovered this thing called internet" not so long ago, so I'm not the best source in the world! I like to think that, maybe, because of his name, he disappeared to avoid any possible association with the comedian Pauly Shore! 😄

These things r not mutually exclusive. Art can be good & have a label for marketing & organizational purposes because in fact, no art is made in vacuum & comes from a history unless your a lost Romantic waving the banner of "no labels" when that notion was debunked early in the 20th century. All you've done is mandated your own beliefs about some music fans and music criticism at the expense of those fans who unlike u are actually discussing the song & the band. Anti-intellectual elitism.
