I found my best friend close to death after having a stroke. She was 27. Her pyjamas were covered if urine and fecal matter so I changed her clothes and carried her down about 4 or 5 flights of stairs (she was only 45 kilos) to wait for the ambulance at the entrance. She was put in intensive care and died a few days later. I wasn't allowed to say goodbye cos it was immediate family only. She had no family besides a father who wanted nothing to do with her and never went to see her. He never told me what he did with her body. A few months later I had a terrible migraine and my head was burning hot. I laid down in the hallway and put my hot head against the cold tiles. I didn't know at the time but I had meningacocal meningitis and my brain was so swollen it was being crushed by my brain and my spine nearly pierced my brain. I was so tired I couldn't think and all I wanted to do was sleep. Then I clearly heard her voice say "no, you can't sleep now or you won't wake up" " it's not time for you to die and you can't let your daughter find you dead" I still couldn't move or keep my eyes open and she said "thankyou" as the images of me changing her soiled clothes, carrying her down the stairs and standing in the waiting room clutching her teddybear went through my mind, (I had taken her teddy bear to the nurses so she wouldn't be alone if she passed) Only instead of being from my perspective I seemed to be watching from another person's perspective as they watched me.Then I heard "come on, you need to get your phone" still I couldn't move and she said "here I'll help you" and my hand moved up and onto my phone that was sticking out of my pocket" then I heard her say " just press down 3 times right there" ( I'm Australian so that's 000 for emergency) I don't remember pressing the call button but I must have. The next thing I remember is feeling really weightless and at peace and her voice saying "no go back" "they'll be here soon just try and wake up" when I woke up in the hospital I had been in a coma for three months. They said at one point they made my loved ones come and say goodbye and Let my priest give me my last rights. When I told the doctor what I remembered he said that if I had of gone to sleep any sooner I would have never woken up and I would have died. They didn't expect me to survive. When I had dialed the emergency number they could hear that I was having difficulty breathing, I think they called it the death rattle. I had passed out before I could tell them anything but the operator had traced the call and paramedics had seen me through the glass window of my front door and came in. I honestly believe if I hadn't heard her voice saying all those things I would have just fallen asleep and never had the strength to make the call. In fact it didn't even feel like I was the one that moved my hand to put it on my phone. I was just so tired at the time, I was kinda annoyed to be kept from falling asleep but hearing the voice of my best friend that I hadn't got achance to say goodbye to, remind me that it would be my daughter that would find me (she was away for the weekend and nobody else would be coming around) gave me a reason to try and fight it and find the strength to hit the buttons on my phone. Rest in peace Tara, I love you honey, thankyou for saving my life. We will be together again soon. In the mean time I know your dancing in the sky with the angels, watching over me. I'll never forget what you did for me. Goodbye sweet.

I loved this show growing up. Robert Stacks mysterious, serious voice always had me intrigued and glued to the screen. Then I'd find it hard to fall asleep wondering if a ghost or murderer was about to make me the next victim on the show. Every creak or crack I heard at night convinced me I would. There has never been another narrator that does it so well or with a voice more perfect for the job. Rest in peace Robert, thankyou for all the fun you brought to my childhood nights.

I looked into more on the first case. I needed to know why the little girl was killed. I found an article that stated the Mizes' knew the mom from work and that the daughter was murdered for sexual gratification and the mother was an, "observer," that neeeded to be killed. My question NOW is....was Mom pimping her daughter out? Was the daughter's death just an accident during sex? Sickening and sad case.

Trisha's mother about instantly set off my BS detector. The kid took off with that creep b/c she wanted to get away from her insufferable wet blanket of a mother. Mom talks a good game, but I get the feeling that the second she's behind closed doors, she's laying into everyone around her about how their not good enough to meet her standards. That B+ in math is good, Trish, but you can do better. . . that sort of knit picking. So, when mom said she was afraid Trish had possibly run off an joined a cult, I laughed. Mom was just irritated that she didn't have one of the members of her cult to push around.
