I am reading Untamed and I am impressed by her openness. I’ve read over 50 pages in just one sitting. I wish these two the best in all they do. They are an inspiration.

These two are awesome. I love Abby Wambach and I always have. As a player, as a humanitarian, as a leader, and just as a person. I’ve always really liked and respected Abby. She’s one of those people that I could listen to her talk for hours. And I’m just a random straight guy from NJ that has not too much in common with her on the surface. But I think the world of her and I think she’s really awesome.

Gonna say this again, for the people in the back: The jobs that have traditionally been held by women (teaching, nursing, social work) all pay less. What has been proven is that- within those professions- women and men are individually paid equally. What has also been proven is that as traditionally male-dominated fields become more female (such as academia) all individuals in that field see their pay decline. Wage discrimination absolutely exists, and exists on a *system-wide* level.

When the supply of workers increases, there is a decrease in wage if the demand stays the same. In this case, there is a 100% increase and that is huge.
@claire2247

@@guysovereign That is true. Let's say we have two societies. Universe 1 has 100% of its male population working; Universe 2 has 100% of its female and male populations working. Assuming the same number of jobs in each universe, assuming no wage discrimination, the wages of all individuals in each particular field would decrease equally. There is heterogeneity across countries, but largely, this is not the case. As gender composition shifts more female, wages decrease. On the other hand, as gender composition shifts more male, wages increase. Adding supply to the workforce does not explain this trend.

"The jobs that have traditionally been held by women (teaching, nursing, social work) all pay less." Well, true. Do you know what type of fields are traditionally held by men? Engineering, medical (doctors), other technological fields, finance, and so on. So obviously, these fields pay higher. I am not saying that certain jobs don't matter. Do you expect a teacher to be paid the same as a software engineer? Do you expect a nurse to be paid the same as a doctor? No, because certain jobs require more work and intelligence and have more demand. So, it doesn't have anything to do with the gender.
