"Untold Herstory" 流麻溝十五號 (2023) by Zero Chou is an important but perhaps flawed film about an interesting time in Taiwan's political history called the White Terror. This film is one that struggles slightly to determine what type of film it wants to be. In my opinion "Untold Herstory" is an important film in that it highlights an important political era and works as successful propaganda highlighting the flaws for Taiwan's KMT (Nationalistic) Party and what it did in the early days of its rule of Taiwan, it doesn't quite reach its goals as an artistic, evocative drama, or as an informative educational film about the events and political realities in Taiwan during the White Terror. While I am glad this film exists and it does cover the White Terror from a unique feminist angle.
