I try to plant seeds conservatively and that's easier to do with larger seeds like radishes. Here's a video with my insights on thinning seedlings: kzitem.info/news/bejne/uI-p3oh8s2Ohoaw

Thank you! It's so much fun to try new varieties, but even better when they end up being my new favorite.

I love growing radishes!! I love them as much for their greens as I do the radish. They taste just like turnip greens. I harvest some of the greens from my bigger varieties, like the Bora King and other Daikons, while the radish stays in the ground to mature. I get a lot more from my crop that way because the leaves grow back so fast, and you can get multiple harvests instead of the one you'll get from letting them grow to full maturity and harvesting them once! I add some of the radishes into the greens while cooking once I harvest the whole plant. The greens are absolutely delicious, with or without the radishes added in!! 😋

I grow these. Mine have been nice and spicy. Currently have some waiting to be fermented. They will store in the fridge for months and months and months. ☺️

So pretty! I'll have to look into them. We've fallen in love with radishes and just harvested all my Daikons because were starting to bolt (Feb 8). Been harvesting them since December. They were monsters (14") and delicious roasted. Germinated in CenTex Oct 4.

Nice! Growing daikons is so fun, makes you feel like a champ. I have a few spring radishes that have bolted and flowered. The flowers taste like radish!

Primarily snacking on them raw. We added them to spring rolls with lettuce, tempeh, and avocado and they added a nice crunch. When baked or sautéed the flavors mellow and pair well with other savory options.
