Okay, I did something which I never usually do, I subscribed after watching one vlog, the Robert Adams one. You've got a perspective which is worth pursuing. Looking forwards to the next and hopefully longer vlog.

Thank you so much! More stuff is in the works. Maybe longer pieces in the future, right now I feel like I still have a lot to learn about doing shortish pieces.

Thank you for photography that is about more than gear, technique and the image. Lkd&Subd. All the best from a cabin in a swamp in a rainforest in New Zealand.

Bravo! A visual and verbal narrative of an uneasy part of history, told in a way that the story telling and the pictures grab me, draw me in, fascinate and repell me. I am no American citizen (I am a German of your age living in New Zealand and working for some months in Australia) but this raw history telling fascinates me. I discovered you via the KZitem algorithm and I am glad that this automated process washed you on my shore. I am looking forward to the next confronting landscape … Chris

Thank you so much for your thoughts, I am glad to hear that the images had a variety of effects including repelling. I think that means they are doing their job.

Like Iain Mc, I watched Adams, experienced your compassion, your photography, your philosophy, and subscribed thinking this isn’t KZitem. This is something higher. Saw another, then this one. Now I want to know who you are and what travels did you take to reach this point. Several years ago, I stumbled on Tule Lake Relocation Center and failed in my photos. I couldn’t capture the despair I felt. You did.

So great to hear from a fellow explorer, and really, thank you so much for giving exactly the kind of feedback and encouragement I needed to hear.

While the fact that 12 children are buried in unmarked graves at the site you explored is tragic, here in Canada literally 100’s of unmarked graves have been discovered at former Residential School properties. If there is anything positive to come from these atrocities, the general public acknowledgement of horrific numbers of graves may at least in some part be responsible for what appears to be greater effort to work to reconciliation with the aboriginal people by us settlers. Thanks for another important video message.

If you want to go back in time you have to go back to the time of the Clovis people. How many people fought and turned into slaves. The story of the brutality of the North American Indians is not told well. Where is all the remains? How do you justify the thinking of the people in the past? Our planet has stories to tell that are in today"s world unbelievable. The Bryce Canyon too has a history all of its own. Some of it is violent as well. Our looking at the last few centuries is like cherry picking.

No doubt the deeper history you mention and the questions you raise are very important. Admittedly, my goals in this video were more modest. But if a bunch of contribute what we can maybe the bigger picture emerges.

@@confrontingphotography4815 that is the bigger picture here. |What you have shown is all there for people to see but is only just one tiny pixel in a very long history. You put us in the focus for all of what you show. That seems to be what everyone want to bash right now, when we are just the smallest part of all this history. It is always good to state all sides of any story specially history.
