Lovely early morning views of the city! Funny story (not at the time) - the street shown at 4:03 is where we parked one evening, and when we'd had dinner and walked the High Line, we came back to this very view of the street and all...the cars...were GONE. I was like, wait, didn't we park here? So we spent the next hour trying to find where it was towed to, and $400 later...we got our car back. I always pay for garage parking now, lol!

Great vlog. Jet lagged or not you guys are just so spontaneous!! FYI - The Pandemic reimagined Manhattan's famous 24 hour round the clock culinary delights. Now a thing of the past. It is not salmon on a bagel, it is smoked lox, mild novia scotia or gravlox. FYI - for the future, if you want to know anything about the city you are visiting? Consult The Concierge or The Check In Desk. Also sometimes there is an assortment of what to do brochures in the room (near the tv or on desk). Sometimes there is a huge display rack or racks just off the lobby. (Check out KING KONG 1933 for a recreation of an elevated train line in Manhattan like what became the garden walk way you explored The Hi Line.) Behind Rockefeller Center are gardens, fountains with Greek dolphins and mermen, and then across the street is Saint Patrick's Cathedral. Check with your Florida Hotel for SAFE pre-dawn watch the sunrise over the Ocean. Ciao!

Owned by an American company Kraft until 2012
@luminiferous1960
9 ай бұрын
Vegemite was invented as a knockoff of Marmite. According to the National Museum of Australia: "Chemist CP Callister invented Vegemite in Melbourne in 1923 when Australian food manufacturer Fred Walker asked him to create a spread similar to British Marmite. Vegemite was initially slow to catch on but sales improved in 1930 when Walker secured the Australian rights to Kraft’s processed cheese and co-marketed it with Vegemite. During the Second World War, Vegemite captured the Australian market. Marmite was unobtainable and the Australian Army supplied Vegemite to its troops. In the 1950s and 60s, despite acquisition by the American company Kraft, Vegemite became a distinctively ‘Australian’ food. It featured in songs, on souvenirs and other popular culture ephemera. Vegemite returned to Australian ownership in 2017 when purchased by dairy company Bega."

So glad that you, Keegan and your fellow friends are enjoying the savage colonies. Yuk of rate pet shop. I am very surprised that pet shops like that still exist. The High Line is great as you can really, look into people's apartments and some of the buildings have a very special "CLEAR" glass to where you can see it all and some people put on a "window show" for passerby. I love NYC but have been there done that and keep my trips there short.

Love it, haven't been to NYC but have been to the Northeast Corridor and all the way up Upstate New York, to Ballston Spa...definitely a trip I want to make someday. I hope Keagan loves the peacoat. They used to issue those to us in the Navy when I was in, but to the disappointment of Navy veterans, they have replaced it with a modern "high tech fabric" coat that's lighter but just as warm and water resistant. You are still authorized to wear one though, apparently, if you want. The peacoat has been keeping British and American sailors warm at sea for centuries 🙂 Does he also have a watchcap? We call it a watchcap in the military; civilians call it a "beanie" I think. but it's a 100% wool cap and you roll the bottom edge up a bit and put on your head, it covers your ears and keeps your head warm, and it resists water, as it is wool. 🙂
