Thank you for your time, I have heard others say KZitem is not the easiest to do at first I guess but having these tutorials are extremely fun and helpful. I did love the one with the razorblades for jeans.....wow that was a great one along with the taking in clothes from others, I have rooms full of clothes and fabrics and I tell you it is overwhelming when you try to take it all in. Sherry I am so glad I found your channel , I would like to say that even tho you had around 40 comments you were kind enough to take the time to Heart every one. I just think that is nice for the people who care about what you are doing and love your channel. Again thank you for your awesome info...👗👕👖🧥❤

Also, since talking straps... if making for yourself to wear instead of selling... can attach straps on the back first instead of front My mind was blown when someone told me that because I was always putting them on front first then struggling to pin it on the back where wanted. ♥ Hope you and everyone have a great day!

I don't quite understand how the shirts go, maybe a little more time showing how the pieces go together or sketching out the parts could make future videos easier to understand. I'm also uncertain of the function of the finished garment or how it's intended to be worn. 🤔

Well, I'm not the greatest at making videos yet so when I get it all figured out, maybe I'll make a new version that is easier to understand. There are pics in my etsy store if you want to see it on a mannequin or see people wearing it. Sorry for the confusion.

Looking at Sherry's listings, photos from reviews, and even some of Etsy's "you might also like"s was pretty helpful. I think I'll borrow some ideas to reinterpret into my own future projects, and especially informs a couple of ideas about skirts made from button up shirts.

I’m have an issue as well bc the fabric isn’t straight so do you follow the edge of the fabric??
@juliekeil8791
7 ай бұрын
I see what you mean, Epic. Sherry did not address the side seams or from where to where they are attached. I just made one leaving it open all the way to the shirt front placket edge. So, the arm is open all the way to the hip. It doesn’t look good so will have to figure something else out.
@cindysmith778
6 ай бұрын
So if I am understanding this correctly, one shirt is the front and one shirt is the back? And the sides are sewn together under the armhole? At first I thought it was doubled all the way around. These are so cute and you are right the pockets and patches just make the outfit!

Hi, love this!! I’m very new to sewing/ clothing construction. My question is , where exactly did you attach the front denim to the shirt? Which part is the lowest hanging part/ draping of the shirt? Sorry, I just can’t envision the parts of the shirt that are attached n which parts are draping. thank you
@SherryJonesDesigns
2 ай бұрын
I don't know how to just describe it in words.......Probably the best thing you can do is get two shirts and slow the video down and follow me step by step backing up the video as needed because you will see your shirts laid out exactly the same way as mine and have a picture in front of you to help you through the steps.

Love this!!! I know this is a silly question, but do you close the button on the mens shirts to close the jumper??
@SherryJonesDesigns
11 ай бұрын
That is a good question. No, I don't close them. The reason why is so that they will drape loosely. Also, most of the time the shirts end up being ones with different lengths or spaces between buttons. Thank you so much for asking!

This is extremely confusing. Can’t figure out how the placing together of the 2 first shirts fit together.
@SherryJonesDesigns
6 ай бұрын
Okay, after you cut off the sleeves and collars, I put the right sides (good sides or front) of the shirts together. You will need a rather large area to do this on. I then matchs the side seams of the two shirts and pin or clip them there and then make my cut. Hope that helps!
@fatedivine13
2 ай бұрын
What do we do when the two shirts are different sizes and the side seams do not line up?
@SherryJonesDesigns
2 ай бұрын
I always put the bigger shirt in the back of the garment and you will have to gather it a bit more when you sew them to the top jean pieces and to cut them, just put the extra toward the center or pull it in and match the sleeves up. That is what I do anyway. I often use two different sizes but usually only a size apart like L and XL etc. Also, I trim the tops to be the same length where they sew onto the bodice/bib jeans. It actually looks cute I think to have the back longer.

Hi, I would suggest cutting a piece of paper or something and holding it up to you that way you make sure it is the size you want. I also make this style with just a narrow band for a more 'shirt' look. I used my two mannequins to get a look I liked that was universal. Thank you so much for your comment and for watching my videos!
