After starting anti-anxiety meds in May of 2018, and then switching to a more depression-focused medication in August of 2019, I made the decision to stop taking all daily psychosomatic medications in the summer of 2022. It was a grueling experience of constant vertigo but now that I've been off for a couple of years I definitely feel that it was the right choice to make. I should clarify though that the ONLY reason I feel I've been able to manage my symptoms since this big change has been because I have been continuously working on my healing and coping mechanisms through various talk-therapies throughout the years both before, during and after taking medications.
