UPDATE: Unfortunately, Google has changed things so that Shift+Z no longer works for files shared with you and owned by other people. In addition, when working online, you will not be able to move files owned by others around that you’ve already added to your Drive. Shortcuts are created in this instance as well. The workaround still works for shared folders, but not necessarily for the files inside those folders, depending on the owner.
To skip to the actual workaround, skip to 5:42.
WORKAROUND: left click once, then hit “Shift” + “z” to access a menu that allows you to add the full file or folder to your Drive.

In this video, I show you how to workaround Google's new shortcut feature so that you can still add files and folders to your drive that others have shared with you. This will allow you to avoid the pesky issues that result from working with shortcuts offline using Google's Backup and Sync! Those of you who need to add, edit, move, and delete files in the same folder shared with a network of people? Have no fear, this will certainly help you!
Негізгі бет UPDATE: No longer works :(, how you used to be able to add Files and Folders to Google Drive.
