This is the hardest part. When my brother was in his phase of his terminal cancer journey, I remember not wanting to leave until he opened his eyes. He was actually in hospice care for three months at home (totally worth it, though signing the DNR is heartbreaking). The last days (the hospice staff thought he had days to live…turned into THREE WEEKS!), and he was transported to a facility. I stayed for hours, among hours, among hours until he finally opened his eyes and tried to speak to me. He said,”Mello Yello.” (His favorite soda when we were teenagers!) I ran out of the hospice, screeching my tires to buy my brother his favorite soda. He was only allowed a tiny sip from a straw, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The last words my brother said to me, “Mello Yello”. ❤

Kyle, speaking as a nurse for 38 years, I can assure you that those nurses truly love Jenny, but know that they also truly love you and the kids. They love your entire family. I have people I did, and always will. Know that the hospice nurse is there for you too. Yes, the nurse is there for Jenny to give everything she knows and can do to keep Jenny as comfortable as possible. But she’s also there to see you through this journey. It’s about us being the “calmest person in the room”. You will all need that. Imprint every single second into your brain. When the time gets close, talk to her, reminisce with her. You can even talk about funny times and laugh because it’s about your whole lives together. Say everything now. She will hear you. She will hear everything. I will be thinking about you and Jenny and prayers for your time together.

Maybe. I think it really depends. My dad had horrific nurses and was even abused by his hospice staff because he was white they tormented him on facebook live. Cops even refused to press charges because they wrote a letter apologizing. So no it really depends. I would advocate if your white NEVER have nurses of a different variety for your care because they will despise you and you run the risk of being abused. We did my moms hospice at home because we knew no place could guarantee that we would receive only whites caring for her.

My prayers go put to you and your family. I worked 25 years doing hospice care. Be assured Jenny will be keep with bare minimal suffering. The meds are not just for pain, but her breathing as well. Even at the end, it may look like she is laboring to breath, she will be unaware of it. Hospice is the way to go for anyone at end of live. We do not let people suffer. It is a very hard job but the reward of seeing our patients go peacfully is wonderful. Jenny is a sweet Angel. Her beautiful soul shines ro all people she knows. 🥰 God Bless you all and cherish what time you have left. Jenny will always be watching over her family. Love you all.

I am an EMT, just finishing paramedic school and waiting for licensse to transition from emt to medic. Ive responded to so many calls that involved the end of a life and to my surprise...many of them were patients in hospice. Ive also had the privilege many times of bringing people from the hospital to in patient hospice. I also got to do hospice shifts with our local hospice during paramedic school. I can with certainty say that kyle and Jennys family are what i wish every single one of us would have when our transition comes. End of life is so hard and scary. It is the ultimate uncontrollable and the ultimate unknown. But the bravery, love, compassion and reslience you all have shown to the world is astounding. And through your experience, you are showing us how to do and be better. I saw in the last live jenny regretted not having had the time to write a book. She didnt write a book but she did get to write a story and a manual on a how to be the best you, always...despite the circumstance. We are all characters in her story and shes teaching us so much by letting us be a part of it. Kyle and the family, this is untreaded territory and every second feels scary but i admire how you continue to live and make every moment count in all the ways you've have to adapt in light of the circumstance. I only "met" you guys about a month ago and i adore everything you have to give us, show us, and teach us. What a gift considering these are private times for many and no one is entitled to all youve offered us. Thank you so much. I know through your experience I am in a much better position to be of service and help guide my patients, loved ones and even myself when the time comes.

Kyle, I have to say you are an amazing person, Father, and husband. I know jenny is proud to have you as her husband. You are so strong. People don’t understand or realize what a heavy toll it takes on the family watching your loved one die daily with numbered days. God has you all in his loving arms. I’m praying for you all to have peace and comfort. I know that God has the last word, so y’all don’t give up. I’m still on hospice also. They treat me so wonderful. I feel the same as Jenny…I want to leave this world at home with my partner, my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and my doggies by my side. I don’t want any tubes, life support or anything like that. I have a dnr in place. Which where I live in Aiken South Carolina ya have to sign a dnr in order to have their care. And yes you’re right it takes a special kind of nurse for hospice care…I’ve had lots of nurses since I’ve been with them. They’ve even merged companies and changed names,…all sorts of stuff, but all in all they have been very good to me. They make darn sure I’m not in any pain at all. I keep in touch with all the nurses I’ve had so far. I see a nurse weekly, but I know it will come to twice a week as I decline more and more. But I’m not going anywhere just yet. As I said before I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Please tell Jenny I said hello and I am praying for her a miracle. I’ve lived my life, I 62 this month. But Jenny is too young to go. She should be able to live her life watching y’all’s kids grow up. Please keep me updated on her progress.

Jenny and Kyle, you so deserve all the love you get and both so strong and inspiring, glad she is comfortable and not in pain. Jenny we rooting for you and looking forward to seeing you get your wish to go home. How lovely of the hospital to let Flower go to see Jenny, amazing. Jenny is so special to so many and that is quite insane when you actually think about it, because her KZitem family, like me, have never met her in person, just goes to show, how far reaching Jenny's amazing humble personality is. A true selfless warrior and beautiful lady. I am so blessed to have shared in your journey. We love you Jenny, Kyle, Ellis and Winnie. Your whole family is amazing and so supportive. 💜💙💜💙🐾🐞

You're absolutely correct! If they never named this child, they should give him/her a name. My son and his wife lost a baby too, and they named the baby Emerson. I think it brings comfort and a connection between earth and Heaven for them. I tell people I have 8 grandchildren. I have 7 who are living here on earth, and one in Heaven.

Thank you for the update Kyle. Last night while praying I thought about what Jenny always said in the beginning of her videos. ‘Hello Everybody !’ or ‘Good morning Everybody!’ She’d say it with a big smile on her beautiful face. Kyle, I want to tell you how grateful we are to hear from you. I don't know how you found the time to update us, but thank you. I am so relieved to know that Jenny is comfortable and not in any pain. I know these days are a blur for you, unspeakably hard, and unimaginably painful, but please know that you will be okay. I know it doesn't feel like that, and dark days will come, but you will be okay. When Jenny is ready to go, take comfort in knowing that you took excellent care of her and that everyone did their best. I pray for her suffering to end in God's time, and for you all to know a peace that passes understanding. No matter what, love will remain. Jenny's love will remain with you. The love of friends and family will hold you up. You and the children will be okay. One day at a time. xo

I hope that Jenny can come home to spend her last days at home with you and her babies & family, and where she’s the most comfortable with those that she loves. We were able to do that with my husband and I’m forever grateful that he was able to die in my arms, wrapped in mine and our family’s love. Kyle, you are just the best! I kept meaning to check in and see if you had an updated video and I heard this just now and like you I’m filled with all the same emotions! You and Jenny are so likable and lovable and funny and you have taken care of your wife in an A+ way. She is so blessed to have someone like you by her side. I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for all you’re going through. To watch your wife slip away from you has to be torture. …I admire you for doing everything you can to keep her comfortable, and in line with her wishes. My mother who was 93 passed away in June a day after her birthday with my family around her doing what you said you did for Jenny by crying and laughing and playing songs, etc. we all took great comfort from it and we felt like she knew we were there. My mom had dementia and at the end was also under hospice care. She lived with my husband and I for six years and then unfortunately we had to put her in a group home but visited her often. Her wish also was to be able to pass away at home, and it broke my heart to not do that for her, but it feels like a home and we were all there for her and they kept her comfortable. It was the most peaceful and only death I’ve ever witnessed. She actually passed away after we all left about nine hours later, but I was thankful that, she passed it the way she wanted. We all said it was all so natural that it was beautiful and we were thankful to have had that time with her. Of course it was heartbreaking because we’re never ready to part with someone we love I was very close to my mother, I am doing much better than expected. Dealing with her passing, but oddly enough when I am left with is shock that she is gone and I won’t see her until we meet again in heaven. I guess despite knowing she was 93 and was in her final days I just can’t believe she’s not still with us. I’m sorry to ramble on and on. I mainly just wanted to tell you you are in my prayers definitely has is Jenny and your children. I pray for God‘s peace to be upon you. Thank you for your honesty, and thank Jenny for allowing the both of you to have shared her journey with all of us. I have heard heaven is a very beautiful place and you will see her again one day. I love the story you told about how she woke up from a deep sleep when you played the favorite song, the two of you share! How awesome is that? I have loved getting to know Jenny! She’s so loving and funny!❤️🎄

You are right, Kyle. There's no need to record her, unless it's what she wants. You deserve the privacy as your family is struggling to get thru this. I'm an RN and have done respite care for hospice patients. All of you will be reliving these last moments on video over and over. It will be so difficult for your family to go thru it once let alone, watching them later to do it all over again. As a nurse, I stumbled on the video of that terrible rash and watched in disbelief. It's a miracle she survived that. I was hooked from there. She truly is a fighter and has such a strong will to live. Watching my own parents as they passed, I realized that they survived as long as they did was because of the love that surrounded them. It's been mainly YOUR love and support that has kept her by your side this long. I'm 66 with over 100 brain tumors and I pray that I have someone like you who loves me just as much. We all have grown to love and admire you all. It's been a true inspiration. Hang in there, Kyle, because death can be just as beautiful as life. ❤️😥

Kyle, I am fairly new to your precious wife's cancer journey, and to see the love you two share is admirable. I lost my dad to cancer in March, and he and my mom were married for 45 years. While on hospice, every night, before my dad fell asleep, my mom would lay in my dads arms and listen to 1 or two of their favorite songs. It was the most beautiful and intimate thing I have witnessed. Death can be scary, and lord knows it's so hard, but have faith that as Jenny prepares to transition to her eternal home, she will be welcomed with open arms, and her body will be made whole again. I was the one, that was administering my dad's medication, at the end, and I made it my goal to ensure he passed with as much dignity and grace that he lived. I am keeping you all in my prayers. I am proud of you for seeing a counselor because this grief journey can be overwhelming and sometimes debilitating. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself, too, as those two precious little ones will need you! Please tell Jenny she has already impacted my life in just a few short weeks. She is a fighter and all of us know that she never gave up, her tired body just simply gave out! ❤

If it helps anything, I personally strongly believe that you and her babies will get to see her again someday. Jenny is so lovely and caring and it has been so sweet to see your videos and lives. Thank you for sharing. One more thing, when my grandma whom I was very close with was passing from cancer, she had those little sassy moments too!
