I wouldn't worry about the handle on the scalper. Alot of knives, axes, etc., we're rehandled after they broke. Cocobolo was one of the types of wood used for knife handles. Glad you're still making some cool videos. Keep on striving for authenticity!

Not thing wrong with any of them I did the same thing as you did with the tomahawk made a small tomahawk out of a roofing hatchet. Cheap is always a good thing do it as much as I can.

Hi, nice to see you back. Enjoyable and informative video. Great collection the French clasp pocketknife would be nice for my son and I to carry in our kits. I just purchased a wool felt hat for my son he is 10. I made him a hat band for it. He wants to pin the side up. I do not have any historical documentation to guide me. If I may ask, how do you pin up the back or side of your hat? Thanks, see ya on the next one.

Thanks, Hoffman Reproductions sells period correct clasp knives if your interested, I made four small holes through the brim and side of the hat and passed string through those holes to tie the brim up, if you look at some period images they also but a button on the brim and secured it up by a loop passing over the edge of brim and attaching to the button
