THe store tour earlier this year where he gave the panda corries bloodworms, walked away to look at plants, and came back to see how much got to the bottom with the tetras in that tank made me realize I never actually watch my tank of corries and kuhlis (bottom dwellers only) to see who eats what.

Hey Cory! I understand "burn out" ... Been teaching for 27 years and trying to re-invigorate the "same old, same old" can be a challenge. I started watching you back in 2019 when I bought my first aquarium. I now have 7 aquariums - (Blue Moscow Fancy guppies, Tiger Endlers, Sunset & Bumble-Bee Platies, Florida Flag Fish, Siamese Algae Eaters, Rummy Nose Tetras Chocolate Gourami and Rasboras Maculatus)! I also have an Aquapponics kit... You have been my "staple" supplier of practical "dos and don't's" for aquarium keeping. I have really enjoyed watching you visit Dean and how you collaborate with each other on different breeding projects and expansion enterprises... Loved the trip to Peru as well... I'd be interested in other stories about travel, camping, pet-keeping - and expanind out appreciation of different bio-topes in Nature's Context as well. Travel can be problematic during COVID, but since very few of us have the opportunity to travel out into the "wild blue yonder" it's great to experience travel vicariously! Best of luck in your future expeditions and enterprises!

I honestly think there is a percentage of over thinking with the content and what the base of your fans would like to see. Which is separate from your burn out / lack of enthusiasm to do repetitive type videos on certain topics or questions. I think most of us are looking forward to updates, fish room tours, inbound shipment order videos. Maybe do a fan tank review series, fan problem video series where we can send videos in or pictures. Could even incorporate product review videos On really any product and a fan doing a quick video of how they use it. A lot of this can be vise versa where maybe you have local friends with tanks you can show off and talk about how they got into the hobby. Some hip fire thoughts.

Honestly at least for me - I'd love to see more of general Cory-content (and other members too, why not) OUTSIDE of the fish keeping hobby. I think we all do love the fish keeping but I totally understand Cory with the tiring repetetiveness. If I speak for myself - Cory, feel free to do absolutely whatever you want with your channel(s). At this point I am going to watch it because it's you and the other team members - people that I enjoy, not because it's just someone that talks about fish keeping. As an owner of a small fish room who breeds just for fun, I would say I purchase fish-related things around once a week whether it's a new fish I've been hunting for, food, meds, or general equipment. I think I understand how you're feeling. I don't know how any of the Fishtubers don't go crazy answering the same questions all the time. It seems very few people actually research anything before asking questions. If someone asks about something after doing research but still needs your expert advice, I'd think you'd feel differently. I've been binge-watching your content for the last couple of weeks I've been fascinated by the business aspects of your videos. My background is warm water recirc aquaculture (200 ton/year + some experimental designs). I've been looking at setting up a small (comparatively) farm for ornamental species to intensively spawn and raise common species for the UK market with an emphasis on automation (aquaculture automation and hobbyist automation seem to be very very different). Having studied your Israeli videos (in some cases frame by frame) there are clearly things even they could improve on. I'd just like to say I'm loving the content and the more business content the better! it's clear the business side of it is becoming more your hobby than the fish, which is common. Any videos on how you're mitigating the issues with the economy in 2021 would be fantastic.

As for purchases, for me it floats around. For example, easy fry is pretty much once a year only because I don't even get a quarter of the way through the bottle before I don't feel comfortable for freshness reasons. That is just because I have a 29gal community tank. On the other hand, I supplement that with other foods that are once every ab0out 6 months (hikari tubifex worms and algae wafers). But like you said, I bulk buy. Instead of getting just one package of banquet nano blocks, I'll get them in three packs. I've since switched to the pleco ones instead which has worked better for my needs as they don't as rapidly dissolve. I don't have a time table on them though as the first is still dissolving down and I have another pack to replace it already. Meanwhile, due to the limits in space and the aquarium itself, it is fully stocked to what I'm happy with thus I'm not hunting for fish or anything to add either.

I totally get why it must be boring answering the same "Can I keep X number of Y fish in a 20 gallon?". I actually got a bit bored of some the live streams for the same reason. From a personal point of view I LOVE the videos in your own fish room, just feeding and talking about what you're doing there in the last few weeks (like this one), I'd watch those every week. I also like the videos in the shop of what fish are in this week and what's popular this month. I often go for a look around my local fish shops even when I don't want to buy anything and your shop vids are like that just I don't need to leave the house. Those videos never get old and boring. Maybe to you it feels like the same old content but just seeing the progress in your own fish room and 1 or 2 new fish you got in is still fun and interesting to me. Plus it's nice hearing you talk enthusiastically about the fish YOU love and what you are working with. Obviously I like the Peru videos and fish farm tours but I understand you can't pump out that content every week.

Cory, I've grown to really enjoy your channel. I know what "some" are saying about it's not the Cory channel and yadda yadda yadda but let's keep it real. This is the Cory channel. Take Cory away and what happens? Exactly. Anyway, I sincerely admire your breeding room and especially Murphy and LadyBird. Long LONG story short I kept multiple aquariums from 6 years old till around 25-30 years old and had to leave the hobby sadly when my daughter was ready to start school and we needed to move to a much more expensive area so she could attend the school zone we thought would be best. Had to move onto a 2 bedroom flat and well... Just wasn't much left in the budget or space for anything like aquariums. Now with all that being said my daughter is 16 and a junior in highschool and I can't control the tank itch anymore lol. Going to start back up with a few very small tanks and absolutely going to support the co-op and order as much as I can. Thanks for sticking with it brother 👍👍

Hi Cory. I was noticing at my LFS that they seem to constantly bring in the same species of fish to sell with very little diversity in new species. I couldn’t help but think that over time their sales would dwindle because the local hobbyist has been there done that. Do you find in your store that with some of the basic species that consistent sellers do you try to bring in new species to the Coop to keep the area hobbyist excited to come back and see what’s new?

Do people complain when you have others host livestreams? I imagine people would watch someone else that you’ve introduced as reliable (jimmy, Dean, Corvan, etc, etc) There was amazing information on streams from years ago when you would have guests and you would compare and contrast your different answers / solutions on topics. I’m sure there’s a reason you stopped doing them but I still go back and re-watch older “round table” style streams.

I'm not sure where you were hoping to get information on ordering. But I know that I rarely order from the coop. You have in some ways limited the number of times someone needs to order from you by selling long lasting products that just work. I buy fish food maybe once or twice a year from the coop but mainly I buy it from a local store that sells xtreme. However none of the stores around me sell any kind of air pumps/air driven filtering systems so those came from a variety of online sources. Aquarium coop only sells products they are willing to back and it seriously limits variety. Especially in plants. Once you have managed to keep more than 50% of the plants offered alive you almost have to move on to other vendors to find different and more challenging plants. Until you get your own lights out, most people are going to look elsewhere for better prices. Fluval and stingray aren't enough options to give a wide range of people choices. So at the end of the day for me I have to need to buy easy green, fish food, and maybe a new filter as I replace some I have but past that you don't offer enough variety for me to even think about looking at aquarium coop first for online orders.

I would like an insight into what the life of a fish shop keeper is, really! It doesn't all have to be about fish. Same for travels, a video from el Mercado del Belen in Iquitos would surely be interesting to see, though it might have very little to do with fish (apart from all the Oscars and Arapaimas there on sale to eat). Also as long as it is remotely fish related. How about championships, for instance annual aquarium coop aqua scaping contest or reports about systems you set up on customer sites?

I've seen videos of african cichlids but not something that is like these are the fish readily available in the hobby from lake tanganyika or like discus are found in this area and these other less known fish are amazing tank mates because they are from the same area. I haven't seen any fish groups do those type videos that do the fish and the plants you carry found in similar areas. You’re going to be the downfall of aquarium co cop. People are telling you what they want. Yeah you have videos and articles but that’s literally any video on KZitem. Anyone can just read an article. And yeah you’ve made videos on the same subjects, but they’re shaky low res hard to hear video that no one wants to sit through when there’s hundreds of high quality videos out there. This is a job, not a passion project. Aquarium coop has turned into something bigger than it being Cory and what he likes. It’s a business. People want a product, some even are paying via patreon or KZitem membership to get what they want and you’re keeping that from them by quite frankly being selfish. There’s people on your payroll who’s livelihood depends on your decisions. You’re paid to do a job. Do the job. I say this as someone who absolutely loves you Cory. You’re a good guy whose done phenomenal things.

You can ask for some community pic uploads ad green screen them, I wouldn't mind getting a look at other peoples fish or aquaria sets. Just an idea. I don't make calls. I just offer opinion.

I would watch even if it wasn't fish content 100% of the time. I can understand how doing the same things all the time could become boring and not as enjoyable. I think a lot of people understand where you are coming from and why sometimes you need to take time away from KZitem to focus on other things.

Bro, take your break. Take the time you need to be inspired again. Blog those videos, and we can see your channel through Cory's world and when you get inspired to do you fish tank video. Record it and decide if you want to post it. Sounds like your getting burned out. Your hobby is your work. But it was your hobby that got you where you are today. Live the life you would be happy to look back to. Love the people that bring value to your world. And learn so that if somewhere in life you mess up you can start back at one, because every day is an opportunity and the universe is talking to you.

I’ve been in the hobby for about 10 years and always had fish tanks in the house as a kid etc and also have been vegan for about three years. Would be interested to hear your take on the animal rights aspect of the hobby in a live stream, as you seem to take animal welfare seriously. Things like fish farms, intensive breeding, impacts of transport, percentages of DOAs on receipt of a delivery, wild caught v farm breed, origins of fish food and general life quality of a wild fish v aquarium fish would be awesome 💚💚💚

I find cichlids are under represented on your channel relative to their overall popularity and presence in the hobby.

I realize this doesn’t apply to everyone but I love all of the stuff you do besides fish. Of course I love the fish stuff but I’ve also enjoyed learning about business and camping and cargo container prices and all of that. For me, I value learning above everything else. So even though I came for fish originally I always enjoy random new information and I find that the best creators follow what they’re passionate about instead of forcing themselves to stay in one area. I think that always makes for the most genuine and enjoyable content.

That’s a fact and the other day he spoke about plastic shortage and I work in that industry and it makes complete sense to me because the demand for plastic is through the roof and ppl have to prioritize who gets what.
