i remember growing up in chinatown wandering through the pet shop. when you livenin a small apartment or single room occupancy, things like the library garden or a pet shop is so special. i think everyone in chinatown has had a pet fish from him before.

The store owner is great! I'm glad for everyone and I hope the new owners are kind and knowledgeable animal caregivers, I just wish animals weren't caged and sold. Some turtles need both land and water in their terrariums, same with some frogs. It's good to feed American chameleons (anoles) soft-bodied insects like small moths and also little pieces of banana (along with the usual diet). Despite what they say, anoles sometimes drink water from a shallow container. The main thing though with animals is to make a permanent commitment and to learn what environment, food, and care they need. SF is damp, cold, and foggy. Never (force) breed and sell cats and dogs.

Am glad they found new owners too. Well I'd say it gets colder in general during the fall/winter. Also unless stuff has changed kind of sounds like it at night/early morning.

Good to see a local store stay in the hands of people who grew up in the area. I could never work in a pet store like that, those "hole in the wall" sized shops and having all those smells of animals just permeating every pore of your body.

As you can see by the blurred faces in the video here. One small, adorable puppy survived, which the owner has named "Lucky" and adopted." Oh sorry, that didn't happen. @@superduperboyxhe’s just telling the truth though🤷🤷, Chinese people are always like that that’s why most of them are successful in life . besides I rather have someone local getting the store than someone from outside state/country who would just stay open the shop for couple years and then sell it or move it to other place.

@@donniebrasco99 Real racist. Plus, stupid. Once, a young Chinese girl carried my shopping up the stairs for me. Plus, she reached her arm back to help me! I was fortunate to have a Chinese teacher live near me. She was consistently friendly, intelligent, and likable. It was so wonderful being able to chat briefly with her through a translation app on her phone. There are all kinds of people, which is why I prefer the variety and freedom of a city.
