Then the Asians will be able to like that white people are less in numbers since many Asians will try to vote Democrat. This in turns makes it hard for the white people to live peacefully in the USA so Asians should be lessened in the USA. I think that was what she is trying to make it look out too. Unfortunately, this type of behavior is not restricted to UPenn's School of Law. I withdrew last semester from the UPenn's School of Policy and Practice's Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program after an egregious act of racism in which a professor had a discussion about whether the Jews were the Negroes of Europe in the early 20th century because apparently they were no slaves or Blacks in Europe in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Pushing back against this idea netted me an act of shaming and being covertly called anti-semitic. I filed a complaint with the UPenn's Office of Affirmation Action and Equal Opportunity programs. Like these students I expect zero action from the administration because white people don't convict other white of racism, anti-Blackness or being anti-Asian. Asians can come here, just as easily as Americans can go there. But when you have a difference, that difference is what causes a divide and you get people with opinions like this. Some things we don't even need a division on but it's created due to the unfairness. Amy Wax is a Jewish woman who’s parents immigrated to America from Eastern Europe. One would assume she would understand the dangers of her writings and utterances as they pertain to “othering” groups of people. Unfortunately, she has chosen the philosophical path that sent millions of people to their deaths during the Holocaust. I don’t believe she deserves any leniency in this issue . She is a highly educated woman and thus should be held to account. I think it also should bear scrutiny how someone with her credentials would come to hold such ideologies. @@ZammyZlaughterzz You make a fair point but its a bit naive, my answer is because if America becomes half asian, American culture will cease to exist, it will be dirtier, and the content of the country will change. Why is that miserable for us? why can't people just stay in there own countries? there's nothing wrong with Vietnamese staying in Vietnam.

@@bmd4565 I mean yeah it's definitely okay for Asians to stay in their countries, but tbh America is like a place of immigration and people of other countries often see America as a land of opportunity and more freedom then their country so they want to see what it's like to live over here, though my thoughts are naive I agree I just really just want everyone to get along (even though ik that's not possible) my parents came here from Philippines years ago because of how bad it was back then (severe poverty, dirty streets, yknow) a lot of Asians don't think they would've expierenced discrimination here because of how open minded they are most of the time (but yeah that belief is outdated now, sorry for the long paragraph) and there's also a lot of cultures here because of their leftover ancestors taken from their home country back when colonization was a thing (correct me if I'm wrong)

@@ZammyZlaughterzz The first immigration bill passed in the United States reserved citezinship for whites only. America was never supposed to be a big convening place for the world. it was supposed to be an outpost of European society and culture.

The comment Amy Wax made regarding Black students rarely graduating in the top quarter/half of her law class.... was this a true statement? If it is true, why is truth demeaning? If I was in a class where someone said, Hispanic women rarely are in the top quarter/half of my class, I would want to know why that was the case and do everything in my intellectual power to represent there. I had a similar situation, whereby a Political Science instructor announced to the class on our first day that she rarely gave A's in her class. Result? I made an A in her class.

Wax is a Jewish Clayton Bigsby. She doesn't want Asian immigration because Asians lean towards the Democratic party, fill elite professions, and come from countries with no democratic traditions of liberty. Yet she is Jewish, a professionally elite and Democratic leaning group, and her parents emigrated from Eastern Europe which is historically lacking in any liberal western democratic traditions. Using her rationale, Wax doesn't want her own kind in this country. At least Bigsby didn't know he was black. What is Wax's excuse?

Tenure is important but it shouldn't protect blatant racism, for the simple reason that it prevents her from doing her job properly. If she has clear stated biases against certain students, then she can't judge the work of her students and therefore is not able to do the job. It's as simple as that.

UPenn has blind grading, so you don't need to worry. One thing I will point out is that she didn't express "blatant racism" or "biases against certain STUDENTS"; you read that into her comments (lead by the ever-tendentious legacy media). Unfortunately, the only antidote to such a lack of critical reading/listening skills is an education by teachers who force you to confront your assumptions and argue them: teachers in the mold of Amy Wax. But we're currently in a mood where students howl in pain if anyone questions their assumptions--and they're encouraged. Too bad.

Not surprised. Yet, it is encouraging to see that we've been given a platform to speak on such issues. Let us not forget the sacrifice our parents had to make for us in this country. They had to move in silence so that we could have a voice.

The crazy thing is that: we, Asian Americans, study hard, work hard, pay taxes, respect the laws, stay out of troubles, contribute to society, but at the end of the day, we're still considered outsiders. We do not ask for any special treatments in school or the workplace, we work hard for everything, and somehow still being criticized for being "too successful".

So...this professor has a history of racism, and the university failed to address them? Then I think UPenn administration also need to be investigated. Does UPenn really value diversity and inclusion? Does UPenn really live up to the missions and values?
