Just replaced two fans for my R10 with nf-a12x25 ($65 with tax), however, quite complex feelings. 1) it does reduce noises a lot when PC isn't heavy loaded, however, it is still not that quiet when gaming, better, but still kind loud. 2) I found that original fans, especial the one in water cooling, that one is truly heavy duty, bigger and stronger than a12x25, I will see if the noctua a12 is good enough to do the job.

Hi, I've seen a lot of videos covering this mod, but I found yours to be very clear and straightforward, so thanks very much for this. One question though ; why go to the trouble of disassembling the aio and only replacing the stock PUSH fan and not putting in an additional PULL fan like many modders have done?

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I have only replaced the fans to one keep the warranty and also just to get it to run quieter. Thanks a lot for the video. I am hugely disappointed at the Alienware Aurora 10 for being such a loud system at such a high price. After seeing the video, I want to replace the top fan with Noctua as well. However, as I have seen in the comments, some users had problems with newer BIOS on it and custom fans. Could you please check on your system if it still works with the latest BIOS 2.2.4? Btw: I tried connecting the Noctua NA-SRC7 4 pin cable with a resistor inside to the Dell top fan. Afterwards, the fan did not run at all and the PC/BIOS booted into a fan checking mode. Had to remove it to get it running again. Thanks!

Hi. Yes, any 12V 4pin PWM fan should work, keep the A (Amp) reading to 1.5A max as that's what Dell uses and it is very high. Noctua for example is 0.14A. I know, right? As for CPU cooler I cannot say much as it might be that you will have to get Dell one. Keep an eye for my new video coming up, you can 'mount' a fan where the HDD cage is allowing more air in, especially important for air cooling CPU in my opinion.
