You need to hit the lower control arms with a wire wheel to knock off surface rust. Then apply a product like POR15. Works well. UK cars get crushed with rust

you need to use a different nut for the ball joint the part number is WHT000785 because the alloy hubs and steel hubs use different ones

Theres quite some play between the control arm bracket and subframe. I rekon that kit wouldve worked if you fitted with all bolts for steering,arb, control arm etc loose.

Bushings should always be torqued with the car on the ground and suspension loaded. Otherwise they are going to twist and wear out really fast

@craennefh2689 if you can not find the coolant leak in the obvious places then you might have what i would describe as the coolant leak from hell 🙈

I am trying to fit them same brakes to my mk5 GTI but having problems with the the rear caliper carrier not being able to tighten down due to the carrier hitting the disk before it’s tight do you think you could help me by giving a link from where you got the rear disks from or a part number I think they might of gave me the wrong disk thanks 👍
