A group of candidates who appeared for the 2023 CSAT approached the CAT, seeking a reduction in the qualifying cut-off for CSAT paper from 33% to 23%. According to the applicants, the CSAT exam, as per the UPSC syllabus, is intended to test candidates' general aptitude and basic knowledge at the Class X level. However, they allege that the questions in the CSAT were beyond the prescribed syllabus and required a level of proficiency similar to that of the CAT and IIT JEE exams. The Lallantop went to Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar to talk to UPSC aspirants and they have shared their demands from UPSC and the government.
