Nice brown lads. Try fitting singles, less likely to damage. And best to keep trout in the net, in the water. Lift for a quick photo, then release. Being out of the water that long? Although it swam away, they often die a day or so later.

Nice work. Need to get those fish back faster they can die later from the stress. It must some clean water to hold that size trout. Rare in a big city.

A terrific trout. Trout aren't normally fooled twice by the same lure. When they do repeatedly attack one it is because it is defending it's territory from a perceived intruder. It considered that pool to be its own spot.

A superb trout that! well done.I do agree with the comment regarding getting them back in quicker though. Also single barbless hooks are the way forward for catch and release, too good a fish to only catch once as they say!

barbless hooks make no difference what so ever as this year the so called byelaws were almost changed and after people complaining it never happend-now im a fisherman and you sound like an angler dont forget two things -(1) fishing came first & (2) anglers are the geusts of fisherman.......barbless hooks wouldnt in a million years work with salmon or sea run trout of the genus salmo trutta which is basically the same as a river dwelling brown that doesnt run to sea-all this talk of mamby pamby talk all nice cute and cuddly etc isnt doing the world of fishing and hunting any good what so ever-every other country laughs and scoffs at us here in the uk with our silly but stringent laws for hunting and fishing-best thing they made by people who either have zero understanding of the great outdoors or by animal loving vegans....not good for hunting and fishing in the same way that remainers handled brexit both amount to the same thing and thats people getting the shit end of the stick...

@@skunkhead2007 An angler is anyone who uses a hook to catch fish (from Old English angol, meaning hook). Hundreds of salmon and sea trout are caught every year by anglers using barbless hooks. Once a hook is in, it stays in barbless or not, unless you don't know what you are doing. I use barbless hooks for almost all my fishing, even if I'm sea fishing. They penetrate better, especially in bony mouthed fish.

You touched the fish with dry hands and you gripped under the fishes gills where all the major organs are plus you squeezed way to tight that's why the fish made that noise
