I remember when I bought my first Uriah Heep LP, Sweet Freedom. It had this song on it. I still love it. It is so fun when young people discover music of this type. Music from the '70s. Uriah Heep is a character from Charles Dickens David Copperfield Other great Uriah Heep songs are: Look at yourself, Stealing, Seven Stars, and Circus.

Thank you so much! Maybe some more Uriah Heep in the future, Blessings! And of course, love all of your reactions. Have a super week! ❤️☺️😊 By the way my favorite song of this group!

Again, my respect for you grows hehe. You are taking the time to learn about the great bands that made rock & roll what it is, which is so wonderful. I grew up on this era of rock myself, and the 80's as well. I have to admit though that I never really listened to this particular band, even though I grew up with this sort of music all around me, so I have to thank you for introducing it to me :-) You'll notice the use of the electric organ in a lot of these 1970's bands. This was usually the legendary Hammond organ, which was meant to be a smaller and affordable version of much larger church organs, meant for smaller churches that couldn't afford the real thing. But it also found use in other settings, including as background music for restaurants, in which the establishment would employ a musician to plug away at the instrument for hours on end. The music they played in restaurants was usually quite cheesy and corny, so the organ became associated with that sort of terrible music. It took the great rock bands of the 60's and 70's to start using it as a rock instrument, with some of the greatest rock keyboard players who ever lived, such as this one, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Jon Lord of Deep Purple, and so many others. You've heard a lot of them already actually, which is so cool. Lots of love from Bermuda!

WoW, I remember requesting this a while ago, it’s awesome that you keep track of all of your old requests. In my teenage years this was my second favorite band, after Deep Purple. I agree, very underrated and so cool that you loved it also, Elok. I can only conclude that you have very good taste. And I too would like to fight anyone who disagrees that this is a good song.

Great band, great react. Not given the credit they deserve. The live version is better though. Amazing to think that at one point in early 70s Uriah Heep and Deep PUrple were rehearsing in the same building!!! Both with Hammond organ central to their sound…..

There you have it no gimmicks just straight forward and brutal awesome rock, 5 very talented guys doing their thing. It is all incomparable but bands of those days so all about clean and pure music and incredible lyrics. With many of today's music taking a very different look and addons it's no wonder why I always go back to the classics which never get old all timeless classics and masterpieces. Sure there are good rock bands coming out of Japan but the only closest one that really stands out to these classic in it's purest form to is Lovebites, everything else is very questionable.
