i think the point of the program is to disagree with the person speaking. its called Hard Talk, so he's trying to throw as many wrenches into the gears of the guest as possible. The point is to see how tough the person is and if they are able to stick to their guns, and that includes changing the subject as soon as he thinks he can't go and further on a specific topic.

Bernie: “the top 0.1% own more than the bottom 90%, and more than 50% of new earnings go to the top 1%.” Interviewer: “well, I’m not interested in that, let’s talk about something else.” 😂 That’s like drowning in the ocean and wondering if you’re going to die of thirst

we vote on percieved personality, not on actual ability. We vote for who we think we would like over for dinner. Politicians know that likeability wins votes, hence why major parties choose leaders based who are amusing, funny, entertaining etc.

Please tell me you're kidding Lol.. Every question of his is just recycled from American journalists who have been hacking at Bernie for years. I really struggled to find a single well-crafted question from him that hasn't either: A. Been answered already B. Isn't an attempt to misrepresent Bernie's ideas (eg. His intro as a 'self identified socialist'...no he is a self identified DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST. Also, why are good 'journalists' still asking how Trump won? It's pretty well know why he won at this point in regards to the shift in American culture, the economy, distrust of authorities, defunding of education, etc

I was at Bernie's fundraising rally in Manhattan - NYC back in 2016, and it was really galvanizing many people to the core and there was momentum for change. But the unfortunate reality that remains however is that a clear majority of Americans will never endorse at the polls a social democratic (left) party in the US. To many Americans who prefer / hold in high esteem economic liberalism and individualism, the VERY concept of the publically financed "commmon good ( i.e. single payer universal healthe care, funded university education etc, better minumum wage etc) is pretty pretty alien, something that by contrast most Europeans appreciate and demand from their governments. So as long value preferences remain what they are, not much will change in US, unless many Americans loose their jobs / livelyhoods and see no way out BUT to choose an alternative that actually benefits them NOT the millionaires / billionaires deep pockets.

Here are two groups that were Sanders supporters who voted for Trump. Rust belt voters who Clinton would not even speak to and NAFTA and the TPP were a disaster for. And anti-war voters because Trump ran an antiwar message, he obviously lied. While Clinton ran as a neoconservative war hawk. The idea that Trump might be the lessor of two evils than Clinton or Biden both responsible for more death is actually a logical conclusion. But Clinton, Biden, and Trump are still evil. maybe the Democratic Party should pick less evil candidates.
