Love to hear why you think DRS use equates to smaller balls lmao
@gillesgrindel7985

@@ballaking1000 I can speak for him. 1/ without DRS, the overtake happened in the breaking zone or in the corner like this one. With DRS, the overtake happens in the straight line where there is far less risks. 2/ nothing requires more balls than overtaking on the outside where there is less grip and the possibility for the overtaken car to drift because of the gravity force. 3/ balls are required to overtake for the lead the second pilot of the one he was fighting against for the title as a "mistake" can be easily made.
@ballaking1000

@@gillesgrindel7985 The cars today are much heavier and due to having much more mechanical grip and even more gains of aerodynamic grip compared to these cars in the video, cars have a much harder time having the same slingshot effect slipstream once had around from the mid 2000's and prior. On top of cars already being harder to gain in speed from behind due to dirty air, cars are much faster around the corners meaning the acceleration isn't asn't drastic once out onto the straights so it's harder to have a better 'run' on a driver in front with a greater difference in speed. DRS simply replicates this once powerful effect slipstream once had and helps negate the problems I just mentioned. The DRS the last 2 years haven't been too powerful. Most tracks it was still difficult for drivers to overtake each other WITH DRS and the overtakes that happened on the straights well before the corner were either from or a combination of it being an extremely long straight particularely with a low-speed exit onto that straight, completely different pit stop strategies ie different fuel amounts, tire compounds or tire wear or the obvious deviation in performance with the top 3 teams overtaking backmarker teams... On average though, DRS made most overtakes just barely possible, more infrequently were the times that DRS made overtakes happen well before the braking zone. Literally the EXACT same story to be said during this era.. Literally everything you've said is still every bit as applicable today.

Well, Murray was so excited because he wanted Michael Schumacher to win everything. I don´t know the exact quote but he said something like "I want Michael to win everything because I want to be around with the greatest driver of all time". And it makes every sports great when you can experiences the greatest players of their respective sports live.Like with Schumi in F1 or Federer in Tennis or Ronaldo and Messi in football.

There will NEVER be another F1 driver with 91 GP victories, 7 F1 titles, 155 podium finishes, 77 fastest race laps, and 5111 overall lead laps, and all accomplished WITHOUT EVER JOINING A TEAM that fielded the technically best car at the OUTSET of HIS contracts with Benetton or Ferrari...He eventually converted these teams to WINNERS on account of his uniqueness as a RACER, and COMPLETENESS as a driver. No other driver even came close to Michael Schumacher. Most F1 title winners needed a car that was technically at the very top FROM THE OUTSET of their drivers contracts and, UNLIKE MICHAEL, THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO CONVERT A TECHNICALLY MEDIOCRE "RACING PACKAGE" into a consistent race winner.... And, always remember when comparing race stats, Michael was competing during an era when there were no +20 races per season, and when you were awarded only 10 points for a race win (instead of 25, which were given only during the latter part of Michael's F1 career).

DC did a great job of slowing Schumacher down here, allowing Hakkinen to close. Interestingly in his F1 Racing Magazine report for the Malaysian race (two races later), Peter Windsor mentioned that DC must have been slightly miffed that Mika also had a penalty, let DC past, then held off Schumacher for half a lap🙂

And even iof Ferrari had the best car. It was also because of Schumacher. He was in Italy at the factory more than the 2 McLaren drivers were in Woking. As Ron Dennis later said: Michael would be at Maranello in November and he´d spend more time there in one month than Mika and David would spend at Woking the whole season. When they tested and made changes to the car, Michael would stay with the mechanics sometimes even over night.

Honestly think that DRS has ruined f1. There is no art of defending or even overtaking. Drivers just wait for the DRs zone and just press the button. Get rid of it.
