It's just that NBA games in America, especially the important ones, are expensive as hell. The cheapest NBA finals tickets are like $1500, and that's only if you get them early. Courtside finals tickets can cost up to $20,000. So the people you see in the audience at American games aren't really fans but rather a bunch of rich bandwagoners. Just needs hip hop? The reason why NBA games are not hyped are because of the NBA. They force their corporate brand on every team with the same boring chants. Before the 90s players would literally get into brawls with the players, just look up what happened in Detroit in the 80s.

@sachemofboston3649
3 жыл бұрын
Andrew Jackson nah man, you’re wrong. There’s a few things you’re forgetting, basketball was invented in Springfield, Massachusetts, not far from the invention of hip hop. And “ingrained” can happen at any point. For the first 80 years of basketball is was barely popular, most people in the world didn’t even know the sport. By the 80s when hip hop was becoming popular, basketball was just becoming an international sport and one of the most popular sports in the country, and this is where the sport became ingrained with hip hop. Just google “basketball mix” right now and tell me how many videos you see of mixtapes made to rock songs or pop songs. Basketball and hip hop are ingrained into each other.

lmfao to be fair baseball doesn't exactly provide the kind of excitement that would move most people to the type of behaviour you usually see at sporting events in Africa, Latin America, etc it's more supposed to be a chill family atmosphere lol the actual game is only side entertainment like a live band when you go out to eat or something over time it just evolved into a totally different type of experience and that's what people are looking to get out of it lol no one stands at a baseball game for longer than it takes to clap much less screaming and jumping around the whole match like footy ultras lmao now if we're talking about real sports (baseball is basically just standing and spitting lol) then I absolutely agree with everything you just said lmao I don't even like baseball (clearly lol) but it doesn't really make for a fair comparison imo
