Agreed. This drum beat is on a loop and doesn’t coincide with what each dancer is doing. USA could barely tamau when she was low and France’s whole body was moving during the tamau. If she was dancing ruru, her chest was moving way too much. Tahiti’s went faarapu to faarori, ruru, and then to a varu at the end, just from the few seconds.

That's not a fair statement to make because USA's headpiece was covering her entire torso, so there couldn't be an equal visual comparison the way France and Tahiti allowed. Not putting her down in any way. Just saying we couldn't actually see all of her movement to make that claim.
@shotgunbettygaming
Жыл бұрын
@@wherebookscomealive1172 When she turned around she was solid as a rock and you don't get there by not having masterful anatomical isolation beforehand. Most people who dance understand what they're seeing. Not to say you don't or haven't, I don't know you, but there's an element of communion with the dance because you know EXACTLY what had to take place in order to execute what we saw from her. I do concur that I wish her hair had been up, I would have loved to have seen more as well. edit: Not to mention Hair has always been a part of the dance as well, that could be why it doesn't count as a negative for me personally. The 3 of them did extremely well. Now of course the Tahitian had the expected body structure and smile which naturally suits the dance the best, but the other two did very well too and I would love any of the 3 to teach me how to dance the Tahitian way.

This dance doesn't belong to Tahiti. They're all part of Polynesia. They're all doing their cultural dance. Polynesia covers over 1,000 islands including Hawaii & French Polynesia.

I had a brief dancing class during a Polynesian Tour once, when stationed in Hawaii. I was taught that it's in the knees, when demonstrating a Hula dance.

All of these women are Polynesian, not just the lady from Tahiti. French Polynesia & Hawaii are in the Polynesian triangle, along w 1,000 other islands. This type of dancing belongs to all of them.

@@magpie92766 No actually your wrong because this style of dance is native to Tahiti and yes the others are also Polynesian but that’s not their style that those islands own this is the style Tahiti owns
