Awesome video!! Also for drummers like me, if you haev the EAD10 you can work with those interfaces and it sounds incredible!!

Thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful. And thank you for the education on the EAD10. I was unfamiliar with it. I did a bit of research and it looks pretty cool. I will be recommending that as an option for drummers that come into the shop. Thanks again! Cheers! Patrick

I have the same Behringer mixer and didn't know how to connect it to my iphone with the USB adapter I have. (I have a USB adapter that looks the same as the white one you are using in the video. Plugging the mixer directly into the adapter didn't work for me, even with a charging cable plugged into the adapter (Although, this approach did allow me to connect my Behringer Bigfoot mic directly into the iphone)). I actually had a powered USB hub sitting around, but it never occurred to me that I could use it for this until I watched your video. Many thanks! I am curious about why it doesn't work just to connect a USB-A-to-lightning cable directly from the powered hub to the iphone. I tried that, and it didn't work for me. I'm not sure I understand why the USB adapter is needed. If anyone happens to know, I'm curious.

Hello Patrick. I’m glad you were able to get everything to work. I had no idea either until I watched someone else’s video. And, I’m with you, I don’t understand why it doesn’t work to connect the USB-A-to lightning to the hub either. Modern technology I guess. Any how, happy I could help. 👍🏼Patrick D.

Mayby dumb question but is this will work for Android phone too (with USB C) + 2i2 A/I + this usb HUB that give power? Like: 2 x USB A to C cable; 1st cable connect between Android and USB HUB 3.0; 2nd cable connected TO the HUB usb 3.0 and 2i2 to with option "push the power button"?

Like I tell my students there is no dumb question. My answer is, I would thinks so. The 2i2 just uses a standard wall wart and no adapter. The Focusrite on the other hand did need the powered hub and the adapter. I don’t know how much this will help, I not familiar with Android and to be honest I barely know Apple. Anyway I hope this helps a little bit. Thanks again. Cheers! Patrick

After looking at your question and the video again, the other gadget is a generic ‘powered’ USB hub. The Behringer and Focusrite needed the powered hub because they can’t get enough power from the iPad. But the AudioBox does. Peace

it is a great review. I am thinking to buy presonus now. Cuz other alternatives's needs too much extra gears. We have to pay for apple adapter and powered usb adapter etc. Additionally It looks more mess. Irigs looks very basic. I think simpliest one is presonus. I wonder its performance at that price range...

Good question. Although I’m not familiar with that model I do believe that it will work, but looking at the back of the Presonis 24c on line it looks like you will need the USB adapter. The AudioBox has a regular iPad/IPhone USB lightning cable input. I hope this helps!

Great question Slamming Cash. My answer is, I’m assuming so. The AudioBox is what I am using for my videos so that I have a better sound quality and I can record in stereo. I have not yet tried going live on KZitem yet but have been thinking about it. My advice would be, try it out if it works great, if not then you know. Thanks again for the question and I hope this helps. Peace! Patrick

AyooChris, Thanks for the question. The Audio box gets enough power from a regular wall wart, but the Focusrite needed the powered usb hub. Not to sure about the iPhone cube, but that seems like it should power it. I hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks for the question Danny. It’s a good one. If you’re plugging directly into an interface like the AudioBox or the Scarlett with guitar and I’m assuming a mic then you will get the separation. If you go with an interface/mixer like the Behringer Xenyx Q802USB then you would be able to pan each channel individually.

@scottwoodresearch
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Saurabh Mathur, The Audiobox iTwo comes with a 2.0 USB type A to type B cable. That cable comes out of the interface and into a standard wall charger. Then use a standard USB lightning cable to plug your into an iPhone or iPad. The easiest out of the box! The Focusrite Scarlet 4i4 comes with a USB type C to type A cable, but an iPad or iPhone can’t give it enough juice, so, YOU WILL NEED AND GO THROUGH THE POWERED USB HUB AND USB ADAPTER. I tried going right into a wall charger, a light blinked, but nothing. So you will need the extra gear to make the Focusrite or the small Behringer mixer work. I hope this answers your question and more importantly I hope this helps. Happy recording!

@@scottwoodresearch Thanks Scott - what I mean is the cable you have shown in the video which connects interface to iPad lightening port. Is that included or would I need to buy separately
@scottwoodresearch
2 жыл бұрын
You can use a standard lightning cable or either. But again, if you are talking about the Focusrite Scarlet, the you must use a powered hub. Type C out of interface type A into hub (included in box), then you plug the USB adapter into the cable coming out of the hub and plug a standard lighting cable (that came with iPad) into your iPad. Hope this helps

which one of these audio interfaces that can control the native volume of the ipad? i mean it can control it's volume slider through audio interface? I've seen one the evo 8. but dont have one, I have a Yamaha MG10XU which can control usb volume but 1 only crank 2% to 5% volume but it's pretty high already especially an already mastered audio tracks. I'm using apps to play music only the volume and its a bit too high before I give some level. 😉 but its decent

Hello Frankylitoy. Thank you for the question. Neither of these will control the iPad volume. And until you mentioned it I didn’t realize it was possible. You are my only hope here Scott Now I have the interface but I need help for Presonus itwo interface to connect iPad to Controller keyboard. I have novation launch key 1, keyboard with USB B Midi connection. 1. When I connect this to interface using MIDI to USB A (Connecting MIDI cable to keyboard USB A though USB A female - USB A female) iPad won’t recognise Keyboard. 2. When I connect apple camera +lightening adapter, by Connecting keyboard to usb A of adapter & lightening to iPad then however the keyboard works but the sound starts coming from ipad instead to monitors Could you pls assist?
@scottwoodresearch
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Sauradh Mathur. I haven’t had any experience wit connecting a keyboard, but will try to troubleshoot with you to help figure out you issue. With a bit of digging these options may help. 1. If the iPad isn’t recognizing the keyboard then it may not be getting enough power from it. You may need to get a powered USB hub. I had this issue with the Scarlett. If you do need a powered hub then get a hub that has a headphone jack in to use for monitoring. (Unfortunately I didn’t see this remedy until after I got the powered hub. So I have to unplug the adapter to hear what I recorded, sound out of iPad or out of the iPad headphone jack into mixer/PA.) 2. This is something that I learned while researching for your question. If you go into system settings, scroll down to touch ID and passcode, type in your passcode and scroll down to USB accessories and turn that on. While researching it seems that most people with Novation keyboards are connecting it to the iPad with just the camera lightning adapter. But I think you need to turn on the USB accessories in the systems for that to work. So, with my limited experience, I hope some of these solutions will help your issue. Good luck!

@Saurabh Mathur You are welcome. Sorry I wasn’t able to help. Like I said, I have limited experience with this electronics stuff. While you wait to hear back from Presonis there are Two channels you might want to reach out to. They are ‘Luvbyrd’ or ‘Ampify’. @scottwoodresearch
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Sharjah. With the three devices I showed, no. There are USB mixers that do have effects. Or you may be able to use a reverb pedal. A problem that may be an issue is that with the new and latest update my iPad doesn’t recognize the interface when plugged into the USB port and pops up a window that says voice overs now have to done using EarPods. I have found another smaller portable inter face that uses the headphone jack on my iPad, it’s older. I will be trying it with my iPhone today, it doesn’t have a headphone jack so I will have to use a dongle. A video will be out in the next day or two.
