Some of the larger capacity USB Powerbanks have internal circuitry which shuts down the USB output if the load current is absent or below a set threshold.
This can be annoying if you are trying to power projects or devices which only consume a small amount of power.
My answer to this was to design and build a small circuit that would periodically "pulse" the powerbank with a load current just enough to keep it from "going to sleep"
