It'd be more useful if it had a prism edge on it, too.

Always something else to learn about. I feel like I have barely stepped into this part.

Hey Greg, great work, I’ve been watching the channel for a while now and have gone through all of your series on the refurb of your lathe, mill and K&T since I’m currently restoring a Clausing and Bridgeport myself. I reached out a while ago about which DRO you chose for your mill. (Thanks for the insight, I’m still trying to choose one… I have time) but I do have two more questions if you can help. First, in which video did you talk about reattaching the plates onto the machines with the little screws? And second, do you have any good advice or places I can look to learn how to clean and refurbish my mill table? Thanks again, Adam in NH

Hi Adam. Thanks for watching. If you're talking about the threading charts and the like on the lathe, I think I mentioned them in one of the videos for the 1942 South Bend. I bought the drive screws from McMaster. They come in many different sizes, so choosing the right one is important. As far as the mill table, I didn't do all that much to mine, just stoned the burrs off the underside of the table and cleaned it with degreaser. I did go a little further and used some scotch brite on the top surface as well as some Bar Keepers Friend to give it a more clean appearance.

Awesome thanks for the info yet again. I remember the video where you explained how to cut the notch and unscrew the pins, but I must have missed the part about where you purchased the replacements. I’ll have to go back and watch the entire series again. What a shame… lol
