Perfect! This was exactly what I needed - straight to the point and a great tip about how to check the seal too, all set up to bottle my home brew cider, struggling to find enough good bottles and couldn't work out how to use the capper hammer for the dozen or so bottles that need capping in this way - Thank you

Cool video, I like your humour. Reading online, so many people are irrationally fearful of the hammer capper, but it's really not that difficult. You'll probably be bound to break a bottle or two along the way, but starting light and with practice you get a feel for it. I used to use a rubber mallet and also lay a towel on the surface for extra shock absorption (as well as to soak up beer should anything go wrong). Happy capping!

You're not wrong, I totally support the bench capper but having this as a backup is fantastic

Thank you! I have been searching someone doing a demo with that, my kit came with one and no one showed how to use it, even the brewer that sent me the kit used a different type of bottler.

Just saved me some cash ;) just bought my brother a beer making kit for Christmas as a surprise to see if he fancied making his own brew but stupidly forgot he'll need to bottle and cap it once it was made! Bottles and capper we're going to cost as much as the damn kit which would have been a waste of money if he didn't fancy the hobby after all, but now I can get him the knock on capper and a little bag of caps off ebay, much kinder to my bank balance. Thanks for putting up this useful (and adorable :3) video!

@gearsofwarcraft1 Cheers and beers gear, not sure of the exact make but got from the Home Brew Shop down near Farnborough. Cheap and cheerful, and needs a technique but is so useful for those bottles that don't seem to want to be capped.

I'm curious if those very thin, and cheap brown beer could handle that type of capper.

You got the wrong bellhousing when you ordered it about housing where you put your cap screws off there's a European version for your size caps you just need to get the right bellhousing for your rejoins products

@@Unclejona the bellhousing is depart on the underside of the capper where'd you put the cap in. There are two different ones you should be able to unscrew that one off and screw on the one for the EU caps

@Unclejona tonight I did some banging on one of those thin brown beer bottles and it seemed relatively strong. I had a friend who could hit the top of one of those and make the bottom pop off. I've never been able to do it.

I killed two of these bottles with the Wilko capper; it does grip I think the depth of the bulge caused it to compress the neck and blow it out.
