This is a phenomenal video. It should have way more views.

Nice job. It had been said that a bowline tried to the outside was 30% weaker. You showed that is not the case! p.s. I can not find any reference to the 30% in The Ashley Book of Knots.

Keep in mind that our research is for entertainment purposes. We did not break enough knots to get statistically significant results. Others have, and we are confident in our conclusions, but don't mistake this for science, or at least not good science.

Tail on the INSIDE less apt to get caught on stuff ....which NEVER happens in a busy theatre !!! Also...I expect to find an inside bowline on busy rock shows load-outs. I'm left-handed ... LoL

nobody seems to get it. use the knot anyway you choose. however... it does not matter what source you learned it from, the "inside" bowline knot is wrong. bowline as in bow-lines-man. the knot is used on a boat or ship for the bowlinesman to throw over the bullock to pull the craft to the pier. if the bitter end is inside the loop it does not work very well because the loose end gets in the way. it is just one of those things that bug me. maybe I've had too much coffee.

In upcoming videos: add results using the metric system as well. Not every viewer is an American.

Because "it really doesn't matter" is totally different in metric.

Tad Richard Your response seems more emotional than logical and rational. Except US, only Liberia and Myanmar still use non-metric measuring. Join the world instead.

Come on! It's quite simple. One pound is the weight of one third of a standard cobblestone measuring 3 sixteenths of a cubit by 3 and 7 eighths. Feet, inches, ounces and pounds were good enough to put men on the moon. Now, memorise this - 16 ounces to the pound and 2240 pounds to the ton...though that's the British ton which is the long ton, and the U.S. ton is the short ton which is 2000 pounds. Both tons are actually defined in the same way. 1 ton is equal to 20 hundredweight.(...?)

The breaking force doesn't matter because your probably using a different rope. You just need to know the difference and there was non.
