It be the small things that help you the most. My clip gain wasn't showing and I honestly forgot how to pull it up. I usually shows in my sessions. Thanks bro. Keep doing what you do. Do you realize that you have zero thumbs down. Thats how you know your videos are valuable.

Thank you for acknowledging the two different stages (no pun intended) at which gain can be set (pre-fader signal and post-fader). I have a question though, because I wonder if I was taught wrong. In a mixing & mastering class I was told to go through each clip and analyze the gain average by going to AudioSuite->Other->Gain and highlight the whole track and get the average. If, say, it was -20dB or even just -8dB I was told to adjust each track to show -6.0dB for the average. Part of the goal was to get vocals, drums, strings all at the same decibel average. To me this sounds too loud for certain instruments and was about blasting my eardrums off with my monitor headphones, but I was told to compensate by turning the mix window faders for each instrument or subgroup down as needed. I get wanting to get your inputs at the same level at the source signal (although part of me questions if you really want your instruments at the same volume level as your vocals - even before ducking), but are you really supposed to do all your gain corrections in the Mix window with the faders for individual tracks?
