You could use some small neodymium magnets just under the latch in the lock position to keep the latches from rattling open and your tailgate coming open. Your wheels, you could paint the rims black, the centre's green matching the stripe, then do a white pinstripe around the rim edge and around the centre. To copy the pattern of the rear wheel try some thin painters tape to give you a guide for copying the pattern to give you that white pinstripe pattern on the wheels. The very centre of the wheel where the wheel nuts are could be painted black to show of the chrome centre caps. These are just a couple of ideas for your wheels. But most of all it's your choice and they will look sweet and look great with how the pick up is looking. Oh your radiator cowel a couple of thin rods from the top corners of the cowel going back to the top corners of the firewall may help reduce the vibration of the radiator cowel.

Hey Brent, I think you need to paint the wheels/trims the same colour as the exhaust header/manifold wrap, I think that will set a nice balance on the car below the belt line. Use a clear lacquer, estapol over the white wash, it will come up like glass with about 4 coat on it and be rock hard.

Try this. Take a left over piece of wood from the bed (sanded) and wipe it with oil from an oil change. Just like rubbing in a stain. It water proofs the wood plus the dark oil leaves an aged look on the wood. Just a caution that can also be a benefit. You'll want to do a few coats for best results and that will rehydrate the wood which is good but it will also cause the wood to expand a little. That can be good if you're using butt joints. Helps the fit for water proofing.
@snoopu2601
2 жыл бұрын
My Pops used to do that with the fence use used motor oil and brush it on the fence it used to stink like used motor oil in the hot sun but you are right the water would run right off it. I guess the old fence wood would soke up the motor oil like a sponge.
@papeep2694
2 жыл бұрын
@@snoopu2601 we cut the end out of a heating oil drum and dumped all our drain oil there. We soaked our fence posts in that. It prevented the bottoms from rotting and kept the insects out of the wood. I've used it for outdoor yard decorations. Wood wheels, wood barrels, etc. Over the winter I put new wood in the bed of my 77 Ford short bed step side. There is a smell there and I wouldn't want to sit on the bed but water beads off it and it looks like that wood has been there forever. Down the road I'll run it again to stay ahead of the sun and rain.
@snoopu2601
2 жыл бұрын
@@papeep2694 thanks for the tips yes I'm going to pass that one on to family the next time they are going to set fence post. That would add some extra life by doing that. When it rains I can see how water over time can settle on the post. I can see how it would look good aged the look of wood and a good way to recycle used motor oil. Buying stains is not cheap some of that stuff can be pricey epeacily if you have to buy a lot of it. As long as people are driving there will be plenty of it. 👍🏽
